Or, just do whatever the bonehead wants - WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY. Take the $ after expressing your (valid) concerns, and tell him not to call if there's a problem with the glass.

If it's a privacy thing, try offering a matte film that will absorb less and lower the possibility of any problems.

Whats wrong with silver 15 ?

It give excellent privacy, low absorbtion and kicks around 80% heat and glare back.

In the UK we have a toughened spec called BS 6206, generally you can put any film on toughened glass, the process to make toughened glass is to heat it up to 768 C (sorry no good at F, but it's damm hot!)

This allows the glass to get to any heat that you should encounter in the US, I am sure the US has a similar spec.

I have put S15 on double glazed non toughened units with no trouble (and yes last year it did reach 100F in the Southern UK)
