First windshield

Recommended Posts

Well, did my first full windshield and 50% SolarFx hybrid FX film tonight. Turned out really nice. Overlaid with a 15% sunvisor strip at the top. Just a few contamination spots but nothing worth changing it over. Shrink was perfect. Which makes me even more happy. Especially for the first one I've done. Wow, that's a big sheet of film to lay. Going to have to get used to that. LOL.

Aaah....so you are sayin just watch the heat then......I will say I moved through my rows shrinkin pretty quick.  Only had a few small fingers to fix although they were down deep on the driver side....worst spot possible....lol.

I did do the sand and elmers trick on the dot matrix though this time.....wow...that makes it look clean!

Like Diablo said, cracks and knicks is the first thing we look for...we do roughly 10-15 windshields per week so don't have anytime for cracking.  Funny though we were retinting my G37s and almost had the tint removed from the windshield with the steamer and it cracked with only a few inches left.  On the flipside I was hit by a Tundra 1 hour later and car was totaled.   :eye
