6" Triumph blades scratching

Recommended Posts

Might be the glass itself. I have ran into a couple jobs that it seems as if they installed a glass type that was meant for a low-e coating and was really gritty and would scratch the glass even using 6" SS triumph blades.

Likely tempered, and the "up" side as it left the furnace. 1/2" tempered is famous for it.

:yeah  I notice there is always a "scratchy" side to tempered glass. If one is lucky it will be to the inside on IG units. If not it may differ from pane to pane. Always a good idea to check your blade in the corner before scraping the field. If you hear a gritty sound :stop and use a scrubby pad.
