High absorbing film on annealed tinted glass

Recommended Posts

Well the five and fifteen of that same film both have higher tser. This one has a very low reflectivity though Like the op was asking for.

Fair enough.

My point was more about the OP following his film to glass guide and applying a lower tsea film option, like a DR film which will still give a pretty low reflective exterior look on tinted annealed glass.

Thanks everyone for the input. That is a great suggestion jh812 I will be sure to look into that film. I have applied several dual reflective samples and have highly recommended these films because they have an extreme heat and glare problem but as you guys know sometimes the reflective exterior look just will not fly.

Hey guys I know this topic has been discussed quite often and I've read the threads just wanting to get some thoughts on this. I'm looking at a commercial building with some large single pane 79.5 x 81 inch annealed tinted glass. The owners prefer a dark non reflective look such as a solar gard grey silver grey 10 with absorption of 65. I don't hang much film with absorption over 54 in general. The glass is in good shape in aluminum frames with rubber gaskets. There is no shading and the glass faces east and south. Also the job is in the southeastern US not at elevation. I've explained the dangers to the owners and the fact that there won't be a warranty on the glass but this could be a good relationship and I'm not interested in busting alot of glass even if I'm not responsible for it. Anyone have any thoughts on this situation?

What isn't warrantable?

I don't sell Llumar but I have placed several similar dual reflective samples on the glass and they all appear very reflective. I understand the concept but for whatever reason the tinted glass is not hiding it. Fortunately after explaining the benefits and warranty of the more reflective films I may have changed their minds. I'm still waiting to hear back from them.
