went to go do a flat glass job yesterday..didnt realize when I gave estimate but,the top 18 inches of the windows are blocked by interior roll down gates, window are 8 feet high by 6 feet wide..big ones..what do u guys think of applying vinyl on top 18 inches on extrerior and applying silver30 film on interior ..is this a sure way for glass breakage?any other ideas? its a nice money job and I would hate to lose it

use a light colored vinyl outside, preferably to match outside trim colors. Its the darker vinyls that overexpand one end of the glass in cases like this. Chrome vinyl may look good on the silvered glass. Also there are exterior mount tint that are silver. The company formerly known as sungard has the best scratch coat for the exterior mount.

I would personally apply the same film outside (if it were not reachable inside) as I did on the interior. If the film looks like crap in a couple years offer to change it for free (not the owners fault you didn't check in advance)
