Film starts shrinking around 100 to 140 depending on the poly mfg. 240 is melting zone.

There ya go :thumb

Just one problem... the numbers are off.

Film begins expanding at or around 160 F, shrinks when cooling and will melt around 480-490 F.

The use of most heat guns will produce film surface temp ranges between 200-300 F during the process.

To my knowledge, dye vat temps exceed 400 F.

Edit: Stands to reason steam will work (slowly) since the temp is above 212 and more likely in the 250 F +/- range.

you would want to use a high pressure brass tanked steamer....I wouldn't try to do it with one of those steamers that just lets the steam slowly emit out of it (like for clothes or curtains) but like a Bissell steamshot type steamer

I wouldn't even try it....jus use heat gun......

on a steamshot the tank isn't large u would always have to be refilling it...(or refilling other similar brands) and u still have to wait and let steamer cool down before you can take the pressurized cap off. it would prolly take too long
