Roll up top-edge cuts made simple

Recommended Posts

One trick that helped me is to poke into the film an 1/8 in above the glass. Now glide into the top edge with the blade at about 20-30 degree angle, following the blade with you body (dont just move arm). Hard to explain but never slips perfect cut every time. I dont hold it like a pencil though.

make us a video pj!! VIDEO! VIDEO! VIDEO! :D

YES! Slow motion video! :olfa

:yep with some "bow-chicka-bow-bow" music in the background. :rollin

Lol!!! Basically I just hold the olfa backwards or opposite of how i do trimming. I do angle the blade slightly, but lay it flat when doing laminate windows where the top edge is flat not rounded. I had a guy show me this way in the first year of tintng, but just never tried it. It works really good for huge arse roll ups on 2-door coupes.

Try cutting with the bevel edge of the glass ( meaning the glass on the vehicle can be polished differently for the same two vehicles). Get a feel for cutting with the outside beveled edge to the top center of the piece of glass, and don't worry about the interior beveled edge ( unless you plan to shave it). The degree of the top center of the glass makes no difference. You will be good to go. Cheers
