Defroster lines wiping off

That means that using paint thiner or acetone to remove tuff glue residue on back window will harm defroster lines?

I'm looking for the picture, but I've seen one here whey they were literally peeling the grid off the glass, it was hanging off.

Happened to me on an Audi a5 as I was tinting it. Quite a few of the lines moved a little and a couple floated down between where they should be. I shit my pants. The customer never came back. We let him know about it.

This can happen when the glass manny doesn't do a good job. Could happen with any car maker. The more common ones I've seen are mid-late 90's Mustangs, early 2000s Lexus IS and mid-late 2000s 3-series Bimmers. I also personally had to replace a back glass on a mid-2000 Silverado. Defroster didn't budge until I put the film on and was sliding it around to get it in place. I hadn't even squeegeed it yet! Best thing I can recommend is to scratch the lines in a few spots with your fingernail before you start.
