Well, they say that the bad behavior is them communicating, so we are supposed to calmly talk to her and ask her if she's frustrated and why. Half the time is something like she's hungry or tired, bored or feeling ignored. So we are trying to get her to verbalize the issue, then once she does we'll either address it, or if it's something we can't fix, like not being able to go somewhere we try to talk about being disappointed or what not. The tantrums have not disappeared at all, but it least we aren't all left mad at each other, it's more of a positive resolution. I think it's been better for all of us.

Reasoning with a three year old :spit

 

When ours throws a tantrum which seems to be getting less now she gets sent to her room. She'll kick, scream, cry, but doesn't come out till she's done.
