Storage solutions

I only keep a few pieces in any given film box.  The cost of film is cheaper than my time trying to find a piece that will fit on a window.  How much is 5 minutes or more of shop time worth?

Some that keep it use old film tubes and roll the film in them.

I usually keep 1-2 pieces scrap pieces from doing bgs to do 1/4s.  For scraps that are big enough to do rollups i roll them up and mark them either FR for (front rollup) or RR (rear rollup).  For 5% scraps that can do a visor strip i just write "V" on it.

We roll the pieces up and put them inside the new box.  That way it is easy to find them and quickly use them.  If we had to spend time digging in a container to find a film/vlt, we would just throw them away...IMO the time wasted costs more than the scrap film itself.
