I would be VERY CAREFUL with anything but 000 and 0000 three and four ought.   Not sure if anything else will scratch or haze (aka. spiderweb) the glass.  

 

Not a risk I want to take when I know for sure that four ought won't hurt anything.  If you have to use more pieces,, then fine, at least there won't be any damage.

I'll use 00 occasionally. Make sure to test a small area first.

Unfortunately i do....and for the mistakes of my workers,

One of the shop in town doesn't tint or vinyl the dot matrix. They just stop right when it's at the dots. That prob helps with the easier shrinking thus making less peanuts.

Depends, I do if working from home. If it's at the shop I work for then technically no but I'm the only installer so all installs go through me. So if anything goes wrong, there is no one to blame but myself. 

 

If I was careless I wouldn't have a job for very long. I typically stick with the 0000 but there are cases I've busted out the 00 and have had success.

 

Its one of those things that if you  feel uncomfortable using it, don't use it.
