Hey guys!

I began my adventure of window tinting yesterday evening. However, when I came to sliding the film into the side and bottom gaskets, I ran into an issue. As seen in the picture, the door panel rises and sits about 2" above the seal as you approach the side mirror. It makes it rather difficult to tuck the film into the bottom and side gaskets without creasing the film (even with using the uz reach). I tried to tuck the film without the need to remove the door panel, but with no success. Would you guys recommend me to pull the panel or is there a technique you'd recommend without the need to pull the panel. I've seen many say that this is one of the more difficult cars to tint, but I don't mind a challenge :homer

Good news is that I'm enjoying this trade very much! Thanks in advance for the help guys!

Trying to remember, but am not sure....just looking at that pic, it looks like you can just lift up the top of the panel to separate it from the rubber, then just slide the rubber right out...just like the old grand marquis and crown vics....then no need to remove the panel.

the easy answer = take the panel off.  You are still very new at this.

the hard answer = well,,,,, I could type a whole page or more on how to install that properly using the two step method :typing and I would still probably leave something out.

Some things are easier to see done than to be explained, and that's a tough explanation ( especially for a greenhorn )  :twocents

Thanks Slick! I'll look into that. I'm gonna give it another crack this evening!

Thanks Bham! I'll look into doing what Slick mentioned or removing the panel. I'm gonna get this :ppdance

Here are the results! This is my 4th attempt at the Thunderbird driver's side window! Not the best job, but I'm happy with my progress. Thanks to all you guys who have helped me so far. I can't wait to learn even more.
