PPF little "marks", why and how to avoid?

Recommended Posts

Those can happen for a variety of reasons:

  • Film sticking to itself
  • Wrinkles/kinks in the film
  • Stopping the squeegee stroke on the film
  • Film defects
  • Squeegeeing over wrinkles

I'd work through it step by step, starting with examining more film from the same roll to see if there are defects present before removing it from the liner.

Hi Jeff

Thanks for the reply.

The PPF is the Xpel Ultimate. I don't think is because of the defect. The PPF it's on the entire front of the car, and only two o tre little point we have these lines.

I think is because of the squeegee stopped on the film.

EDIT:

What do you mean for Wrinkles/kinks in the film ??

Thanks again

If the film is not kept relatively flat or rolled when handling or plotting, I've seen marks happen.  Usually it is if they are squeegeed over though.

All those mark have to be steam out....they usually happen when the film is stuck and squeezed over...but lift it up and steam and they are gone...

That is what it appears to me as well.
