Residential question for light gaps???

I leave a gap as thin as my hard card. IWFA (or whatever the letters are) state there should be a tiny light gap to allow it to properly cure. If the film goes all the way to the edges it could curl.

That's what I do unless it is some nasty wood frames that I need to avoid the edge.
