Yep, we are at $150 right now which turns away a lot of people.  However, I literally want to eliminate them so going to $250 next year starting right before tax season.

I’ve been at $200 a removal for a few years. I still don’t think it’s worth it, most of the time. Occasionally, you’ll get a win and the adhesive will stay with the film.

What method do you guys use? The first few I did were just with a steamer and worked pretty well. Tried the ammonia trick this last time and it went even better with the steamer as some additional help once I pulled the truck back in.

Also, what is your pricing based on, full removal? I usually charge half of install if they are doing a reinstall. Example being front doors; I charge $100 so removal would be an additional $50 on top.

@ErieTint

The $200 is a full removal charge, if it not a full, we adjust the price accordingly. Removal on 2 fronts would be $50 for me as well. That’s kinda how I figured it off a sedan, 50 for each set of doors, and 100 for back glasses. When I do a removal, I prefer to peel a little to see how the film is coming off, and then decide what to do. Steam or bag, but it’s usually hot down here so it’s easier to just go outside and grab a corner of the film and pull. Occasionally, I’ll pull the whole car right there in the parking lot if its coming off no glue.

We do the black bag method with ammonia on the rear window then Raid Remover to finish off any glue.  The sides we steam off while we let the rear window bake.  If we are removing just the 2 front doors we charge $30.  If it is anything more than those 2 front doors, it automatically goes to a flat charge of $150.  If we are only removing the rear window, it is still $150.  When we do the increase it will be $50 for the front doors and $250 flat charge.

I got a hundred tricks up my sleeve...My last trick is just to fuck it all up and tell the customer to replace the glass...
