Question - tinting/matching large RV windows
Welcome. Yes, I have followed your posts in the past under various names I've had here at TD. I settled on tintguy after dodging a bullet via a NDA run-in with a previous employer. Immediately after the name change, I did furnish it to HR so they can continue monitoring my shares. Leaving the previous name(s) behind was only to throw off others who lurk in the event there were other things said that I was unable to find, identify or remember. Currently, I am in my 8th year of absolute retirement save the participation here at TD. I do miss it all some days but, the nostalgia is quickly waning as my age moves upward. At least I still have and use a lifetime supply of cutting knives and blades from an inventory purge many moons ago; I don't think any window tinter will give those up. 😆 Wise move to simply recommend the client have the windows replaced; you will gain much respect from them for being straightforward. -

Morning ever E body. Already wanting to pull my hair out this morning. Just had the " gotcha " guy. He said gotcha after EVERYTHING I said while giving him a quote. Wanted to punch him in the face or shoot myself - one or the other. -

new llumar platinum EXTRA/Suntek ultra DEFENSE?
I have used the Llumar Extra film and it is 11.5 mils thick. It is nice for extra protection but it does come with some trade offs. I did the bed sides of a black Ram Dually. They are terrible for rock chips on the bed sides. The orange peel is more than the standard 6 mil window film. The biggest issue we came across was the deforming of the film when something does hit it. Most likely being on a black truck made it more apparent but there were very noticeable "white" marks from where it got hit by something. Granted it saved the paint but customers kind of see paint protection as I indestructible barrier. Also being so thick it does not conform as easily as the 6 mil. It has its place and works well in those places. Rockers, spats, fender flares, heavy equipment.
