Nick.benson
This may be a dumb question but here it goes. When using a plotter on tint, why do you not want it to cut all the way through? Seems like your just adding work but not having it go all the way through, am I missing something? Thanks in advance. jh812
Yes if you cut all the way through the film can not feed in and out properly. It will cause it to get off track and destroy the pattern as well as your cut strip. You want just enough to through the film not the liner, then weed your pattern out. Bham
Think of it this way. The liner keeps the pattern together, so you only want to cut the pattern in the tint and not the liner. It's like cutting on your peel board. If you cut all the way through while cutting out a quarter window or backglass, the edges will fall off the glass as you are cutting. Same thing with the plotter, if you cut all the way through, the pattern will just fall out of the plotter the same way the edges roll off the glass as you hand cut.
