I’m having hood, front bumper and front side panels done with XPEL and being charged $2999. This seems like a lot?

I’ve worked for XPEL for 15 years and can verify that this is a typical price from a well-experienced installer.

Referring to ROI for PPF, how would you calculate any ROI for any automotive product?  Window Tint, Graphics, Wraps, Wheels, Aero-kits etc?   Does anyone have a way to determine that or is that something that is based on each owner experience?    Just wondering since the general automotive aftermarket all seem to fall into the same category.    Anyone?

ROI for something automotive.... Well hypothetically if you got your car detailed before going to trade it in....You would likely get your 150.00 or more back in ACV. Window film is likely a non ROI particularly if its illegal or to dark in the state where it is sold. Graphics big net negative ROI, Wheels.... never going to bring what you paid at trade time, Most dealers want stock trades...They may be able to push a wholesaler for a couple hundred more dollars but thats about it.Aero kit AKA the "Puertarican Package".... negative...zero ROI ...custom sterio..also zero. PPF also zero and quite often a deduct at trade time...particularly when it needs to be redone or a couple years old and looks like azz. We were in the used car business for several years. Dealers want stock, simple , generic cars, not add on crap that will cause them warranty headaches down the road. A high end car dealer would rather buy a stock( 911 for example ) with no tint, no Puertarican Package, no PPF, no custom wheels, no custom stereo, etc. At auction..all of these things hurt the car on the block.

Sounds correct.   So why are there lots of Auto Accessory stores, tint shops, ppf shops, graphics shops all in business and making a profit because customers want all that stuff?

Thats not for ROI, its for customer satisfaction.  Just like PPF.  Its for customers to keep their car clean and damage free for the time they own it.  Not necessarily for when they trade it in or sell it.  Although when selling it, the new customer will be more pleased with the fact the front end is almost completely chip and scratch free.  I have never told a customer its for a ROI.  The Customer reaches out and asks for a PPF installation because they want it so they can keep their car looking new.

Has nothing to do with ROI.   Just like you said.
