New Installer Here

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I'm getting into the tinting business and after some reading I've come to understand the different brands and all the wannabes. So my question is, how do I go about ordering from these high quality brands to supply my shop? Or are wannabes not so bad after all cuz I keep getting targeted ads for Flex Film lit up with positive reviews, but my forum hunting did not heed positive results about them.

I've been out of the industry for many years now and have touched a lot of the films you speak of. Now if you've investigated discussions of film here, you may have come to conclude that many have switched from long term film brand makers to Global Films.

Express films out of Connecticut has a smooth signup process at their website, a wide variety to choose from and you can even get custom cut (ex. I bought 180'' x 30" to install on my recently bought home0. Of course for custom cut, you pay a premium. You can check out pricing for you by calling and speaking with customer service.

Those who buy Global rave about it's quality and longevity.

If you're a legitimate business with documentation, you shouldn't have much trouble.  You might not be able to pick up certain brands if they have given territory to a nearby shop.  I've used SolarGard since 2008 and rarely have issues with the film and they have a big network of shops.  The same with Llumar.

If you're a business, contact the brand you want directly. If you are a DIY installer, go with Express above since you do not need to be a business. You won't be able to buy the big brand names.
