gas prices vs. paying more

just had a woman come in wanting the 2 fronts done on her truck. I told her the price and she said she could get them done for $15 less in lufkin. (a town about 55 minutes away) she couldn't remember the name of the place (extreme somethin or another), had no idea what kind of film it was. BUT, she did remember it had a lifetime warranty. :nope yeah, that's what's most important.

:lol:rollin:spank

now for those of you customers who don't fukkin get it, this is NOT worth it.

what's the average gas mileage of a new chevy? 14-16 mpg?? a 120 mile round trip at 15 mpg, with today's gas prices will cost you $15.12 just in gas. not to mention putting 120 miles on your truck, wear and tear, using up those expensive tires, ect.

also, that's 2 hours of your time. I don't know about most people, but my time is worth a hell of alot more than that.

I don't understand how most people even have the brain cells to get dressed in the morning.

I always tell myself later that if someone is that stupid of a shopper (thinking they are saving money when they are actually screwing themselves) that I probably didn't want them in the first place.

what I really enjoy is when they come back later because the shop did bad work or tried to screw them around and I can tell them to kiss my hairy azz.

I would tell her "so you rather save 15 bucks and spend all that gas? and if she came back to my shop,I'd raise the price 10 bucks,I did that 1 time and can you believe the man paid it :rollin

so I call the place she's referring to. and they charge exactly what she says they charge. they use a well known HP film, that's also well known for turning purple in about 2 summers.

I couldn't find a listing for the place she was talking about, so I called an established tint shop there and asked them about who she might be referring to.

the guy says, "yeah, she's talking about so-and-so, they'll do it for that. IF they have a tinter. they don't have a tinter half the time."

:nope:rollin I WONDER WHY???? :spank

as of late I have been buying only the best of things, or at least planning on buying. Usually when you are buying a better product or service 99.9% of the time it is going to be more expensive. I don't see why people don't understand this. So in 3 years or less when the tint begins to fade/turn purple and they biatch about it they wonder wtf, to me that isn't worth savin 15 bux. Cheap ass people p1ss me off, ESPECIALLY when they have money! :rollin I learned my lesson in car audio. I bought some Pyle's because they were cheap 2 weeks later they were done...off of a CD player's amp. Then I bought some audiobahns and a poweracoustik amp, a month later bye bye...blown again. Then I bought some rockfords, the newer one's they used to sell at best buy, hooked up my amp and within 3 weeks the coils were fried, sent em back got a new set. had em in the car for about 5 weeks when they got jacked. At least that didn't cost me much and the person who has them now is probably pissed cuz they blew again. Now all I really look for with audio is eclipse Resonant engineering, Adire focal MB quart, some boston acoustics, Image dynamics, Elemental designs, TRU, McIntosh, Dynaudio etc...I've had my eclipses for a while now and no problems yet, so I don't even know where I am going with this anymore just wanted to vent...I guess

*end rant*
