Guest areyouthetintguy?

I have a friend who has a business that does this type of work........excellent repair jobs...most times they look as if there was never a problem...and the profit on that business blows away window tinting,,,I may try it out

I got into tinting by starting out with vinyl repair..Vinyl can be melted back together, leather cannot. If it's a big rip then it probably can't unless it's on a seam then it can be resown.

My family business has been doing this stuff for 50 years. Let a professional do the work. If you dont understand how airbags and such work on todays cars, leather repair can be a major issue. However, you have to be good with your hands in tinting so doing sewing and such may fit a lot of you guys. Just keep im mind that a good sewing maching for leather etc is very expensive and cheap ones dont give a professional look when done. You can always tell when a cheap shop does the work. Good luck with uphosltery business and if I can help let me know.

2muchtint where in NC are you from .. :rollin Leather repairs need to be made on an area where there isnt a lot of stress....I do a lot for car dealers but the repairs only last about a year...depending on how much time I put into the support backing of the repair.. :rollin

The best way other than buying a new cover is to sew in a new panel. You must find a good material match.

I do leather and vinyl repairs also, but I prefer to sew them.

It lasts longer and looks a lot better. But it takes the experience and equipment to get a professional job.
