I know this topic has probably been beaten to death but I'm in need of some help. I am going to try the vinyl on the back glass matrix, I've been doing the glue but I'm all for something new. My questions are: What type of vinyl should I purchase and can I get it at my local sign shop, second: does this need any shrinking, and do you apply it with the same solution as the tint? Lastly, I presume this goes on the inside? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot. :dunno

The guys at my shop shrink it,I buy it from accugraphics a big sign supply shop.I order the one that comes with a 5 year warrant nothing under that.I have seen it put on the outside and in.You install it just like a vinyl strip that would go on a winshield. We use baby shampoo with water!!! Hope I was some help, wait till the Master tinters come in,and trust me everyone of them IS A MASTER AT TINTING :dunno

use a good 2ml vinyl. like oracal 851. I never shrink mine. I can wrap 2ml around a basketball. it's very easy to work with. also, use a mix of 70% water/30% alcohol for the install. the alcohol activates the adhesive, which makes it lay down better.

I nice thick mill no shrinking required the best thing I've found as far as applying it is a spray foam glass cleaner works great as far a movement and tacks up rather nicely. :gasp

I agree that a foam glass cleaner is the best to use to install the vinyl. When you get a drop in your eye, thats when it sucks.

In my opinion I wouldnt buy it from a local sign shop ( like myself) because it will cost more!! Buy straight from Dist. www.ameriban.com They have the Oracal 851!
