I cut right above the bottom matrix line so the tin doesnt even touch the matrix after installed. Saves about 20 mins of messing with the flip. Lays down perfect everytime. I put half inch tape at the bottom to cover, but that is the only car I put tape on the outside. People usually dont care, they are just happy someone will tint that car for them.

I don't put tape on anything myself
:spit me either.

IMHO when I see tape I see a tinter that didn't take the extra step especially on old camaros with defroster lines and Rodeo'd and Passport rear windows.

If you cut the bottom corners with a curve instead of a sharp point they will lay down almost everytime and the ones that dont I will slide a block of foam or a large wadd of paper towles in there to hold it in place while I do the sides.

..or take 30 seconds and sand the bottom corner dots with sandpaper, then the film will cover it and still no messing with flip :spit

If you cut it short slightly on the outside it will lay down perfectly on the inside.

I have the undo pleasure of tinting hoopties for a living so I get to experiment.

the trick to the back glass on this car is :rollin simply just dont shrink the bottom. and it wont roll back on you

I'll have to try that... hopefully not soon though.

well I usually just lay it in and as it starts to roll, I heat it with the torch. let it marinate for a sec, push it down and maybe cool it off with the spayer.
