Scalpel can make a lot of sense for those being afraid to scratch the glass. The twist though is that you turn it around and get the very tip . With only a little practice it works quite well. It is also quite easy on your joints because you don't need any pressure. Only good for free cuts on cars though, not interesting for flat glass or any guided cuts.

anybody here ever try using surgical scalpels for film cutting?

Have been looking at some diamond and ceramic blade scalpels,

these things are damn expensive, but they are supposed to retain an edge for a very long time

Knew a guy in Florida... a real tint dinosaur dating back to the genesis period for window film... he used scalpel and single edge razor blades... sent him thousands of blades about 5 years ago when they were purged from inventory as a non-seller. :thumb
