Anyone watching this story? I grew up 2 blocks from Arlington Park Racetrack, this stuff is in my blood. I'll have to tape the race because I'm working, but it'll be cool if he wins...First Triple Crown since Affirmed. This horse is goofy in the stable too, likes to bite passers by. He's got goofy looking bangs, and he's not very big, but damn...can he run..

The Belmont is an ungodly long 1 1/2 miles though. Anything can happen.

Not much of a horse racing fan but I know that the Triple Crown is a hugh deal.

My grandpa use to take me to the track with him when I was real young, about 7 or so to start, every time he came over on a Sunday.

Yep...I watched it... Birdstone, Son of Grindstone, who won the derby about 6-7 years ago and made me a bundle. I didn't bet on it this year though. Too bad, he paid $75 to win, about what Grindstone paid. My wife was watching it with me, and when I said at the quarter pole Smarty's not going to win, she looked at me.... 3 wide throughout on a mile and 1/2 race with slow times, and being pressed to go out front? Ain't gonna happen. But he's that good that he almost pulled it off.
