My fully pumped up spray bottle just blew the hose right out of the top of the bottle.

I had bloody water p1ss1ng out of the top and all over the room like an out of control, knocked over fire hydrant. :lol6

It's incredible how much squirt can come out of a bottle when there is no obstruction. The fine stream hit the ceiling and had it not been in the way, I reckon it would have peaked at 20 feet.

I wrestled with the pump handle to twist it off to let the pressure out and got absolutely drenched in the process with soapy crap all over me.

Not happy! First time it has ever happened.

Similar thing happened at the house last year. I keep 2 tanks in the garage at the front, in a "work area". Just opposite of the wall is the kitchen. I walked into the kitchen one night and was sloshing around in about 1 inch of water on the floor. I check the dishwasher connections, nothing. I checked the reverse osmosis tank under the sink, nothing. I check where the water line goes to the fridge, nothing. Then my wife said something about my tint tanks. So I ran into the garage and there sat one of my tanks with a ruptured hose. ALL 5 GALLONS were in the kitchen. My wife soaked it up with every towel we had and I was running the shop vac. Good thing it wasn't carpet. Now I disconnect the hoses every time I'm done.

thats funny!!

I had a friend who worked at a tint shop and this one other guy would worked there at the end of the day would pull his hose off and leave the fitting on the tank and then he would spray the other tinter as he was going to the trash can in the back of the shop, man he would get pissed off and drenched!

I had that happen to me years ago.

I was installing a back glass during the summer. I was wearing shorts. I have a big wing span so I can hold a back gls film pretty easy. While I am on my knees placing the film onto the back glass, I have this certain tickling feeling on my testies.

Now I couldn't do anything because this back glass was huge and I did not want to loose it. Once done, my shorts were soaked. It seems that the hose from my tank sprang a leak at the right spot. It was shooting a steady steam of water right up my shorts, to a certain spot where it did not belong. :thumb

:music was going home after a long day when I heard hissing sound coming from back of the van. when I got stopped I was not at all surprised to find a small flood come out the back door when I opened it :bling 3 gal poly sprayer had a ladder on the nozzle trigger.

haha, I was in high school I would do that to my co workers that worked for us, I would do it when they were working, we use to call ourselves names, one time somebody got real mad and took the hose and sooked me big time! :evilgrin

      Since there is no limit of darkness on the top strip, I have wanted to tint it. But I would go very dark, to help with sun glare in the evening.

      Yeah that’s a very fair point to a degree I’m probably overthinking it. I don’t see really significant glare reduction until you get into much darker tint. Like you I think visibility for me is more important living in the country. I’ll probably see what the specs list the differences between 70% and 80% and then double check with the tinter as to what they recommend. Likely will end up with 70% with a strip along the top. Air80 seems to be much more popular, not sure if it’s due to performance or the difference in cost being so much more for the stratos. thank you

      Hey guys - so I work for a vinyl graphics company that is adding window tinting to their repertoire and I had a question about your guys' ideal process. I have my plotter set up and my window tinting software ready to go, but I am completely ignorant about the way that tint installers prefer that things be cut. Currently, I will plot/weed the tint and cut the backing away as much as I dare before handing it over to the installer. I was thinking that the installer would prefer the tint to be cut to shape which I believe I can achieve with the perf cut on my plotter. Is that the typical process or should I not be worried so much about it being cut to exact shape?

      Im in TX, plenty of of what you mentioned. While I do sit higher in an SUV, glare reduction is not improved much at all with what I have. My 80% is almost clear, not dark at all. With all tint, it adds a bit of reflectivity from the outside, which I notice makes it slightly harder to see from the outside looking in, in the form of a glare not darkness. At the end of the day, it's not permanent, it's only money!

      The answer is to not heat that area too much so that you leave some slack in the film for when you get it to the inside. Also cut your pattern a little large so that you can trim a thread off the edges after shrinking to not have a furled edge. After you do a few of those you'll figure out how much to leave/trim to not have any light gaps. Also I'll leave a hardcard wrapped in a microfiber in the bottom overnight to collect water and keep pressure on the film while it dries. Sometimes you can take the top rail off the glass if the jackwagon boat builder didn't put too much pressure on the glass package when it was installed. If you pull the rail off of a tight package it's a pita to get back on, looking like it could crack the whole time. Congrats on getting it done. I've seen plenty that couldn't, which is why I price them like I do.

      Thx everyone for the tips the install went fine, however i did run into a new problem on the main curve of the glass from thr outside the tint would lay flat on the big curve but when applying it seemed like there was too much tension and it would not stay down i ended up heating it up and flattening down but some of that area got overheated and warped a little, if you know how to tackle this problem please help me thank you!
