Booms got a reaction from TintDude in Unusual problem— I’m stumped.
As stated above, fingers are caused by under shrinking or improper squeegee technique. All a finger is, is excess film OR tension where it shouldn't be...or a combination of both.
Next time your doing a back window, pay attention to what you are doing when the finger appears.
And stop doing the "+" pattern on your squeegee technique. You are causing yourself problems with that.
Question...for finishing the bottom of the film, how do you squeegee? Be specific.
You're welcome.

Booms got a reaction from Bham in scratches after window tinting?
That is definitely installer error. You can see where his tool went past the film when he was shrinking it, scratching the glass. I mean, what is this installer using to shrink the film? A metal puitty kniife?
I would NOT take no for an answer from this shop. That is what they have insurance for.

Was really hoping for the best on this one. Customers garage was A+
25 degrees this morning. Could have been worse without a heated garage.
This car was no joke.
Happy Tinting

Booms reacted to TintDude in Life as A Window Tinter.
I'm sorry but this is a forum for those in the industry, you came here originally for advice regarding a tint job for your car, then called us lazy, was asked to leave, now you're giving advice about running a shop?
I'm confused why you are here.

My schedule stays at least a week or better out. I know what's on each day so I do my best to make each day "even" as far as difficulty.
Saturdays are always the easiest days. Hopefully only trucks or super easy cars on Saturdays.
Once you get a good rhythm down of how you want to schedule things, it gets easier as you go.
Been 100% by myself for a long time and am doing well over 100K a year without killing myself.

Booms got a reaction from Bham in 2021 Toyota Venza
Yeah, I tinted the second one without removing the alarm sticker. Lemon Squeezy .The first one is still on the lot, tint looks fine, just a minor scratch near the bottom.

Do NOT put a razor blade anywhere near driver and passenger front doors. They have a coating that scratches very easily. Ask me how I know.
You're welcome...

Booms reacted to Bham in What did you tint today?
I have a love/hate relationship with these cars. You know it’s always gonna be bad when you cut the backglass in the shape of a Superman emblem. Vette. T/A either one Yes, I did the rear twice.

Booms got a reaction from jconnors in Heating line tint reflection
The reason is called light refraction. The tint bends around the defroster lines causing a distortion that the light *refracts* off of due to the uneven surface.
No, you can't do anything about it.
You're welcome.

Booms got a reaction from Bham in Unacceptable PPF Install HELP
Nonsense. I'll say it out loud, it's a shitty job. PPF is very difficult to install, however, EVEN IF he had to trim it to make it work, those jagged ass cuts are unacceptable. Sorry.

Hole . E . Crap .
I'm scared to think what the paint looks like underneath those relief cuts. And who trimmed that, Edward Scissorhands?

Booms reacted to Old timer in side windows put on no shrink
What booms said is spot-on. I started putting film on before shrinking. So I had to learn how to squeegee.

Booms reacted to Roach in What did you tint today?
Over a decade in the works.... did it today. No after shots - it was hot as balls and I had no energy to go inside to snap pics. But we used HanitiaTek (sp?) DR 10 grey external.
