TintWizard got a reaction from The ///Man in Possible Fraud?
The fact that you didn’t get paperwork for it was done for cash isn’t necessarily suspicious . I’m a reputable Llumar dealer and I won’t give paperwork for a windshield tint as it’s legalities are questionable. I have only ever used AIR80 in a windshield because despite its questionable legalities, I’m all for helping customers with their skin issues with a tint that in no way is dangerous for visibility.
With that being said, there should be no reason why the shop can not show you the tint with lot number in a “bonified” box for your piece of mind . If they cannot , I would go right to head office and confirm that they at least buy that particular product. If they do, the odds are you are ok.
Also as a last resort , if you go to another Llumar tint shop who knows the film lines well, they can look at the job and should be able to tell you just by looking at it with a trained “Llumar eye” .

I liked it back in the day when Tintdude was the only gig on the net. That kept life real simple and organized. More “channels” on the telly doesn’t necessarily mean better programming lol

Hi Forum . I have come to find out that this company was admittedly a little quick out of the gate initially but sounds like they have things figured out now with a revamped product which had taken care of the halo and delamination issue.
I’ve been wanting to dabble in something new for awhile that is a good compliment to the auto tint biz I’ve had for 35 yrs and decided to take the plunge. I just received my starter promo kit and 1 day training will commence on Saturday . ( only 1 day because of my previous experience with tinting and specifically traditional UV windshield tinting I already have ) It’s more to get use to the feel and of course always learn new tidbits.
So far all I can report is that communication has been top notch with the company which is a big deal to me , I will keep you folks updated as my journey begins with this product .

What you need is a darker shade which has nothing to do with the type of window film.  Ceramic and non-Ceramic films come in darker shades.  You just chose too light of shade...not the film's fault.  The "Ceramic" part of the film has nothing to do with blocking sunlight...it blocks heat.

Lately a couple of people have suggested taking the forum to the Goliath of Facebook. I suppose they prefer the ease and that there are many people on it.
I think these people deserve a thoughtful response from me why we will never be on Facebook and why TintDude.com is different.
The easiest way to do this is to say what we are not, so I titled the post: TintDude.com Does Not...

TintDude.com does not have a team of psychologists making their product as addictive as possible.
TintDude.com does not add members to the forum, every member here signed up. Unlike the groups that can be created in a day where the admin 'adds' members that they have info about to make it look like hundreds of people signed up.
TintDude.com does not track you around the web and keep track of all the websites you visit.
TintDude.com does not make you wait 2 weeks to delete your account.
TintDude.com does not create a psychological profile of you that it can share with 3rd parties.
TintDude.com does not sell your information to, or share your information with 3rd parties or device makers.
TintDude.com does not require in its terms of service that if you use the mobile app that we have full access to any and all banking information done on that phone.
TintDude.com does not build shadow profiles of non-members.
TintDude.com does not work with payment sites to know what products you buy online.
TintDude.com does not care about your race, gender or politics.
TintDude.com does not perform psychologic experiments on its members.

    Facebook does.

I hope everyone appreciates the difference and what we are trying to do here. Thanks for your time.

Here’s how I do them , this Camaro window is from a couple of weeks ago, I pull the glass , then no contamination on the edges. Looks like factory tint when done [emoji106]

I’m loving the IRX upswell. If you know how to profile your customer and vehicles along with the demo kit that they supply, it’s a great way to make more $$ without working harder [emoji41][emoji106]

I got a heat box from @Midtown Houston and put 35% samples of ATC, CTX and IRX in it. The drop in felt heat between ATC and CTX is honestly incredible to me. The drop from CTX to IRX isn't nearly as drastic but you can still tell a difference. It has already swayed a few customers for me and has me fully convinced that when mine gets redone it will be getting IRX.

If your sanding them and its still happening, I'll ask if you wrap them in a paper towel as well or direct hard card contact ? Also how's the SR coating on your film of choice ?

We show all customers the display board and then let them feel the difference between 5% dyed and 35% IRX with the heat lamp box. At least 75% go with IRX and the rest usually drop down to the "mid-grade" which is either CTX or QDPC. We do very little dyed anymore at retail level with most of it usually at dealer level now.

    Wassup hoes!!

Llumar IRX feels and installs the same as CTX, just more IR rejection...up to 88% versus CTX being 69%.  IRX performs on the same level as FormulaOne Pinnacle...each spec is basically 1% higher or lower.  Eastman has setup IR films for all their major brands with the performance increasing as the brands get more prestigious.  Suntek has CIR, Llumar has IRX, Huper/Autobahn has i3, and FormulaOne has Stratos.  We have been moving IRX like crazy, even though we didn't have anything to show the customers.  We just added the shades to the wallboard and updated the heat lamp to include IRX today.

Hi Toronto Tint . Try Kijiji, you have to keep an eye out for s good deal but they do happen in there. I’m about 2 hrs from you (assuming your in Toronto by your handle name) . I just picked up a spare plotter (Vinyl Express Q100 42” ) for $1100 Canadian and runs like a charm. I’d take a good used plotter over a new cheap one any day . Good luck in finding one , good luck with the part time business [emoji4][emoji106]

I kept the scraper away from it all together and used a soft white scrubbie and cleaner just to loosen any contaminates and went right over the coating . No warranty due to stupidity of the manufacturer . Came out fine and customer was happy I didn’t take a blade to his window . Not debating if I should have or not ... just the customer and My mutual agreement in how I was going to proceed if he wanted it tinted at my shop or not . I wasn’t going to mess with that coating and potentially pay for new glass it ruin it . Too many cars lined up that doesn’t have “issues” to bother with the risk.

Thats true if you it for some vehicles. I guess I feel the titan can do what the reach can. One tool I do like that I picked up recently is a blue and yellow quick foot. Great for tight bottom corners on bgs and I use it to shrink underneath spoilers.

I don’t use it much but I wouldn’t say it’s useless . It works best if reversed for deep reach areas on certain cars. It’s not an everyday use tool

TintWizard got a reaction from florida tinter in 6 months later, tint on windows appearing to shift?
I’ll go out on a limb and say it was more likely a shotty job from the get go and your now just noticing a bad line up job of the tinter. If the other side even remotely resembles a similar gap. You’ve got your answer as it’s highly unlikely both windows started to shift at the exact time
