    Peanut Killer

Smoother shrinking and you won't fight peanuts because they won't be there. I haven't had any peanuts for so long I forget they are a thing. I use a torch now on most windows but it's the way that you attack the shrink more than what you use to shrink the film. If the film looks distorted when you lift it off the glass then it's going to try and pucker up....
  2. Most any film company will have a dual reflective film. Internal reflectance will be about half the external.
  3. It was about the 2015 that stopped me for years of pulling the mirrors on the Ford trucks. I had 2 break in a short about of time...
  4. You can't go wrong with Global. I've seen HP that was 13v years old that looked perfect. No adhseive failure, color change or fade!
  5. I have not used it but I don't trust it because of a trusted friend and his inside knowledge. This knowledge was from a few years ago though di maybe it's ok now but in but playing Russian roulette. I'll stick to Global.
  6. Don't just pull crap of the internet. This is a wrong interpretation of the law...
  7. They were baking something for sure... think it was in there mouth and fingers!
  8. Illinois can meter as dark as 30%. I use a 40% film to get in the right range. This 35% is only applicable to front sides on vehicles without factory dark tinting and if no other windows are darker than 35%..
  9. Film is so not smooth looking when done. I can see that causing issues down the road. In the end it's what works for you though.
  10. PS can be easier to remove. Dry adhesive typically bonds to the glass more and is a nightmare to remove.
  11. I wouldn't recommend anything but global or llumar myself. There are other names that get good reviews but these are the only 2 I would use myself.
  12. Upgrade your windows and doors! Get some glass that's actually efficient.
  13. For privacy and heat I wouldn't go any lighter than a 30 or 25%.
  14. It will make it much harder for them to see you. It will always depend on the lighting.
  15. I would not be happy with any of that tint. Tons of small contamination spots. The edge is likely dust nibs too.
  16. I simply use global and don't worry about warranty. In 16 years I've yet to see a film failure with global. I had one from right before in some llumar though...
  17. Lay the film on the glass, overlap top or bottom, mark the edges carefully with a marker, shrink whichever part halfway. Then lift the film off and move it a little to shrink the other part. Then you can trim the film to size or a little large. Should be good to go from there. Hit a little heat on the final install if needed.
  18. I use global 40% to get in a net 35% here in Illinois. It will typically meter between 36% and 32%. That gets in the 5% allowed over for legal.... So yes, a true 40% film is the range you want. Now the fact is you won't likely see a difference if it is between 30 and 38% with your eyes. Meters are the only way... Some vehicles will look darker with a certain darkness than another similar vehicle. A darker car, darker interior, shorter, and or smaller windows... all factors. Overcast days the windows will look different and harder to see in due to the gray reflection from the sky.
  19. They think they have some magic film, might be a film you don't carry like a more reflective, back in the day the fader films were popular and had a customer or two wanted to get me to do those, could be they think they are going to get a better price because they provide the tint. They don't understand that the film is a very small piece and it's more labor...
