Ryker got a reaction from Dano in Best squeegee for prepping glass ?
Black channel squeegee. Any hard squeegee is going to leave behind more in general.

Ryker got a reaction from Tintguy1980 in South facing windows DR film
Blinds or curtains are really needed if you have direct sun. Film will get you majority of the time but something more opaque is really needed if direct sun.

Ryker got a reaction from Dano in Peanut Killer
Smoother shrinking and you won't fight peanuts because they won't be there. I haven't had any peanuts for so long I forget they are a thing.
I use a torch now on most windows but it's the way that you attack the shrink more than what you use to shrink the film.
If the film looks distorted when you lift it off the glass then it's going to try and pucker up....

Ryker got a reaction from Tintguy1980 in Advice on internally non-reflective architectural film
Most any film company will have a dual reflective film. Internal reflectance will be about half the external.

Ryker got a reaction from Dano in XPEL VS GLOBAL
You can't go wrong with Global. I've seen HP that was 13v years old that looked perfect. No adhseive failure, color change or fade!

Ryker got a reaction from Dano in Scorpion films has anyone used them.
I have not used it but I don't trust it because of a trusted friend and his inside knowledge. This knowledge was from a few years ago though di maybe it's ok now but in but playing Russian roulette. I'll stick to Global.

Ryker got a reaction from alberts316 in Faster Way to Heat the Tint. Goodbye Heat Gun
Film is so not smooth looking when done. I can see that causing issues down the road.
In the end it's what works for you though.

Ryker got a reaction from Dano in Question about VLT variance
Illinois can meter as dark as 30%.
I use a 40% film to get in the right range.
This 35% is only applicable to front sides on vehicles without factory dark tinting and if no other windows are darker than 35%..

Ryker got a reaction from robertvjr in New Tint Bubbles
I would not be happy with any of that tint. Tons of small contamination spots. The edge is likely dust nibs too.

Ryker got a reaction from LB55 in Auto window tint claims/performance question
You don't. You trust the shop or you don't.
Do you question everything like this? Did I get an Angus steak? Was it US or Mexico? Was it really an 8 oz or was it 7.8 oz?

Ryker got a reaction from flat rock stan in Window tinting warranty labor payout
I simply use global and don't worry about warranty. In 16 years I've yet to see a film failure with global. I had one from right before in some llumar though...

Ryker got a reaction from Bham in Classic bubble windows /w chrome
Lay the film on the glass, overlap top or bottom, mark the edges carefully with a marker, shrink whichever part halfway. Then lift the film off and move it a little to shrink the other part. Then you can trim the film to size or a little large.
Should be good to go from there. Hit a little heat on the final install if needed.
