Unfortunately they are right.  It looks like the defogger came off with the film.  It's very rare for this to happen so it could be a poorly made glass.  I wouldn't entirely put the blame on the tinter other than the poor first attempt, they were likely relying on the like 99.9% chance the defogger isn't going to come off with the tint.  I've had cars where sometimes they come off with a towel or scrub pad.  It sucks when you step on that landmine.

Cars are easy money. I’m fine and dandy making $300/hr.

Here's some video where you can see shrinking both with the film rolled across the glass and up and down.

I tinted this gem. “I got all the tint off except a little bit on the back window”

Tinted a 2022 Civic.  If you thought the old civic was easy, somehow this is even easier.  I have a video uploading now if you haven't seen one.

A video is worth a million words.  I like to take things apart to make things clean and easy.  I've started compiling videos of me tinting.  If you want to watch some you will see how I handle various situations.  This is assuming you are talking about tinting cars.

If 2021 hasn't changed since 2020 there's nothing much to worry about.  Pretty basic cars

Prayers going out to all of our Australian brethren whether you tint windows or not, WE ARE ALL PRAYING FOR YOU.

The world of freedom as we know it is falling apart and the good people of Australia are fighting back.  The news and footage of the clashes between police and the public is absolutely shocking and ridiculous.  Hang in there people.  Fight hard.  The world is watching.

Just want you all to know we are praying for you.

I tinted one of these a few days ago. I did all of the windows minus the windshield. I was able to pull the sweeps on the front doors by removing the screw under the lock and also the screw in the pull handle. Little tight but easily doable. Trickiest windows were the rear roll ups. They are similar to a 7 Series where the glass goes beyond the trim.  I did not remove these sweeps although next time I’d like to look into it. Quarters and rear window are straightforward. I hand cut and there was enough room to cut and shrink the back window without any issues.

I've done so many I can get the spoiler off in about 10 minutes.  It gets faster.  If you do an H pattern set your line low just above the wiper and it will shrink easy.

Found it.  I bet it takes longer to ship than it lasts in the sun.

You can see the spots continue past on the outside beyond where the clear glass is.

It's not the tint, but something spotting the outside.

I say if you are doing 8-10 cars a day hand cut along with sales either you work way too many hours in a day or the work quality is not where it should be.

The fact that you didn’t get paperwork for it was done for cash isn’t necessarily suspicious . I’m a reputable Llumar dealer and I won’t give paperwork for a windshield tint as it’s legalities are questionable. I have only ever used AIR80 in a windshield because despite its questionable legalities, I’m all for helping customers with their skin issues with a tint that in no way is dangerous for visibility.
With that being said, there should be no reason why the shop can not show you the tint with lot number in a “bonified” box for your piece of mind . If they cannot , I would go right to head office and confirm that they at least buy that particular product. If they do, the odds are you are ok.
Also as a last resort , if you go to another Llumar tint shop who knows the film lines well, they can look at the job and should be able to tell you just by looking at it with a trained “Llumar eye” .

Close enough works for me if I means a few extra hundred dollars in my pocket each day, I'm taking this G37 back to the dealer now and bringing a focus. So far the patterns on the Precision cut have been close enough for the 99% and if it's slightly off I just fit it tight where it's low, and shave the extra where it's high while I'm installing. No lie, I have pulled in at least a dozen extra cars in the week I've been using it.
