I agree with all of the above. It's not worth the hassle. Just remove and replace and keep chugging along.

I remove the quarters from the vehicle when there is only a rubber gasket.  A bit more work but they are so much easier to deal with.

High dollar quotes may be representative of; 1) high overhead costs or 2) wanting to stand out in a crowded field through a price illusion of having the best. Most all 'ceramic' films in the industry come within 5 or so percentage points of each other in terms of TSER. The amount of difference is trivial in comparison to overall performance, while occupying the car.

Write each one down on a small piece of paper, put them in a bowl, and blindly pick one. Then, get an idea of what their workmanship looks like by visiting their shop, what the product might look like on your vehicle, and what might be their service history rating from online apps. Workmanship outweighs all other factors.

    I cannot pick for 'you'.

Just out of curiosity ? Where is this window located as far as height?  If this window is say above your head or shoulder height it really needs a safety film of some sort.  Six foot glass shards coming down from that height is very dangerous and they won't be small pieces.  Pieces big enough to take a limb off at that height.  Just sayin...

Their panels are the worst to remove, even the new ones. Id rather remove panels on an Audi. Chevy lost it way. I never tint their stuff because nobody buys it.

This is just like the 2015-2018 GMC/Chevy door panels with defective vinyl dye.  Everyone argued with me that it was the solutions we are using

Thank you for the heads up on this

pbalentine reacted to Dano in Is it mandatory to shift film when cutting?
I stopped side shifting a long time ago. Today the only cut I'll make is the bottom and top edges.

Sometimes I'll shift the bottom down before cutting the top if the inside door sweep is low. For the sides I'll use a marker or grease pencil to mark the edges and cut them out on my peel board. One small wiggle can cost a bunch of embarrassment if you gaff a rubber or scar the glass.

pbalentine got a reaction from Dano in What does it mean to tint the full car?
A full tint is all side windows & rear window. Additional options such as the windshield, visor strip, & sunroof are priced separately.

The front doors of this van have the XR Black 55 installed

So does this windshield. It's worth noting that this vehicle has a fine layer of dust over the whole thing.

I tinted mine in 20hp over the factory 30. To stop the glare at night just pull down the blinds.

The panels on Hyundai & Kia come off easily. I remove all of them. Most new ones you can pull the top seal by removing one screw behind the handle. Most vehicles now I get the window down flush it and hard card the sides and top with a towel.

What you're seeing is plenty of glare bouncing back off of a darkened, smooth/glossy surface. Dimming your dash lights at night might help some. During the day not much you can do except remove it and replace with a lighter shade.

I spend more time talking people out of dark installs for this and other reasons. It's generally not safe. Unless you're running surveillance, work in the oil fields all day with no shade or have some other legit need for it as a utility I really don't recommend it.

    I would get it stripped.
