  1. I. Have no idea what 799 is but the industry standard is 795.
  2. No o don't have pics of exterior failures handy. A simple google search should net you plenty. Yes we have used Hanita on exterior projects. I really dislike any exterior applications due to the inevitable trash that will find its way behind even the best cleaned window.
  3. The SR coating is the first thing to fail. It gets hazy or starts to flake. I don't know who the Hanita distributor is in your area but I'm sure you could contact AD for that. And 795 is fine., Or even spectrum for 1/2 the cost.
  4. If I r call, Cool Gray is a PET film. And it's designed for interior. It should under most situations last a year or more outside. Lots of variables...is there a overhang, was it edge sealed, does it get wet, does it get direct sun exposure...up in the North East we get the freez thaw cycle which is torture on exterior film. .. Had it been me, I would have told the client it's a interior film..you want it to deteriorate.. No warranty...they own it.. IMO it's not worth the liability to cater to someone who wants a p doubt to something it's not supposed too.
  5. I would expect to see noticable deterioration in less than 3 years. I'm told Hanita is still being made same as it was before AD, weather that will continue to be the case in the months or years to come has yet to be determined.
  6. To date, the ONLY may that has a purpose built exterior film is Hanita. All the others that promote "exterior" films are slapping their AG SR coating on their interior films and letting it out the door.......
  7. Very nice,. ..we are actually building our new offices now as well. ... It's a dirty dusty mess at the moment. Hoping to be done in the next 10 days. The painter is due to start on Monday.
  8. Find the local Hunter Douglas. Distributor near you. Set up a whosale account with them and go from there. I have a friend out here that owns one of the franchise shade and blind companies. Most of their stuff comes from China but he makes a nice living. Blinds of some sort are specd in on virtually every new commercial building. If you are familiar with the bid sites and process, there is a never ending opportunity....but sharpen your pencil.
  9. The past few years there have been countless reboxers pop up. Many of them will go tits up once their comebacks start to pile up and they can't cover the warranties. I have no experience with SolarFX and no idea how they plan for warranty reimbursement to dealers. if I were ever to hitch my cart to a reboxers horse, I would want to see the bank acct they set aside for such warranty issues. .. If you are in this business for the long term......saving pennies now, will cost you dollars in the future.
  10. End caps are really box specific. Meaning that depending on what size box the distributor uses, it's usually engineered to fit the material with a specific end cap. ..some end caps are wider than others to absorb and spread the weight of the material. Others are like the little black ones with a 1/4" flange...basically good for 20" rolls of auto film... not 100 foot rolls of Dusted Crystal
  11. We pay short money for them now.. if I were closer to you it would be worthwhile to pick them up..but shipping them is probably a net negative
  12. We have thrown out countless numbers of old cores.....I wish I had had kept the 72" ones... We use them to re roll printed film.
  13. We just today got our first pre production roll of a clean removal film...that everyone hates to remove..above all others... hoping to have it available to the public in the next few weeks. 😎
  14. We have samples of both Hoho and Cool Vue.. color is identical and tested both under a spectrophotometer.....dead nuts the same... you make the call....
  15. In our little corner of the world, business has been phenomenal. Our sales this year surpassed last years by mid August ..and last year was off the charts.. Our tickets per project were significantly higher overall ( larger and more complex ) than previous years. Virtually all of it deco and custom printed in nature. Having the equipment and capability to produce our own film has cut our costs by almost 75% in many cases. ..which is essentially a huge bonus to our net profits. ..
  16. Llumar has a horrendous history of film curling off the glass. Their V14/18/28 line is miserable if you don't use X100. We actually stopped using it entirely due to the curling issues. Other mfrs have figured out how to get CDA to play nice, it's shameful that Eastman can't do the same.
  17. I will have to check and see but I think that film needs to be edge sealed if less than 5 miles from the coast.
