There is no such thing. Window film naturally looks clearer/lighter when looking out versus outside looking inside. However, the darker the film, the less visibility you will have looking out. Looking at one of his videos, the side window looks pretty clear because it is a sunny day, which allows it to look lighter since there is more light outside of the vehicle. The same way you can do 15% on your home but at night with interior lights, it looks like there is virtually no tint. Also, when looking at his video, you can easily see the side windows are much darker than the windshield when he pans around the interior. So no magic, no new technology, just a sales gimmick for an Amazon-quality film with some idiots believing you can install a 5% film but have 90% clarity looking out. Regarding Carbon Ceramic, I do not know of a quality brand that makes it. Many cheaper films add Carbon to their Ceramic films to make them color-stable. Adding Carbon is much cheaper for small manufacturers to make a color-stable film versus the standard dyed process. Only the big boys (Eastman/Garware/3M) have the money and technology to use the dyed method to make a truly color-stable film. If these small manufacturers tried this, their films would turn purple and fade quickly.

On a side note, this reminded me of when Photosync came out with transitional automotive film around 2012. Everyone was talking about it on forums like it was some magical film. Of course, they ditched that technology sometime before 2020 because it was all hype with a limited transition lifespan. CoolVu came out with their transitional film around that time with much wider transitions. This post made me look them up, and within a few years, it seems they are no longer offering it for automotive applications, only flat glass. Plus, opening franchises instead of pushing for more dealers.

dang i just tinted one two weeks back yikes! didn't know about any issues with those. roped and dash toweled it like any other windshield. no problems yet. the customer is returning the car because its a lemon. so not really worried at this point lol

global has been on my autie's whip since 2011. in socal. still looks the same. no fading or bubbling. i was dumbfounded when i visited this summer. the same day the global was installed i put charcool by madico on a different car. there was adhesive failure on the back glass but the color was  still there,

your car had previous tint on it. installer was probably unaware of the glue residue  and more than likely uses the "new age" cleaning style of using safe plastic scrapers/ scrubby pads instead of the old school masculine steel razor blades. they should have no  problem redoing it for you

I have done a back window on an el camino 7 times before it finally laid. it was the only thing on the schedule though.  had an r/r on 3000gt last week that took 2 attempts for the back window. I would have probably given it two more attempts. Dano is right about scheduling on an off day. the added stress doesn't help the cause.

don't sweat it its just tint.  at the end of the day service goes a long way.  anything from lumar, xpel, 3m and global should meet your needs. they are all good films that will last for years! but to answer your original question xpel and global might be made by the same manufacturer but are NOT THE SAME FILM.

you have to come up with scenarios that would make it plausible.  there are scratches on glass that can't be seen until they are tinted. I see it all the time and even worry I will be blamed. the majority of the cutting i do is on the peel board to avoid any problems that relate to this.

yeah some films have more than others. i had a customer that had xpel on his 21 ridgeline and had the same issue. I installed a different film and it went away. you only notice it on the windshield due to the angle you are looking at it at.

its crap tint.  In my opinion any film that can last at least 5 years is solid enough but 2 to 3 years is to soon. I've been using global for 10 years no problems.

Is it time to hang up the pouch? I think i've seen it all at this point. From issues with water frying pricey electronics on door panel switches ( new range rovers), frying computers on rear decks (new Mercedes), and faulty brittle defroster lines (I've seen it on jeeps, chrysler, and Buick), the delicate U.V. coating on the newer Lexus and Toyotas, and now your telling me that plastic can scratch glass?! it seems like doing cars is starting to be a liability, regardless of safety measures.  To the OP, thanks for posting this. will keep an eye out for these Audis.
