Thing with tucking is you just will get those few times they just pop up. Had this happen on a Maxima last week, which I usually pull. Spent like 10 minutes messing with fingers. Just pulled the for the rest. Im tucking the older Gen Silverado and newer F150s and it ends there. I actually like removing stuff and like installing rollups like an easy, stationary SUV window.

Why would you not remove the seal on the F-150? They literally pull right out.

Did a 19’ Mustang and did this with 1500. It was 5% and you couldnt even see the lines! Im not sketching on using it on new vehicles anymore. I couldnt drag my nail over the lines, but after sanding could hardly feel the line. I had a 18 Hell Cat Charger last week and was scared to use sandpaper. Spent like 20 minutes pressing peanuts down! Im sanding all that need it now new or old. Thanks to JH!!

Just an FYI the new mustangs don't peanut, at least they haven't for me. I don't do any special prep on them. I've done a ton of chargers and and challengers though and like stated earlier I use 2k with no issues. Keep the glass wet and push one direction not back and forth.

Hi sorry to necropost, but this thread was one of the top search results on google for “Johnson’s Window Film”.

My installer/friend uses Johnson’s. He’s put it on nearly a dozen cars for me in the past that I flipped. I have my first high end personal car and want to make sure the customizations are nice. On the forums for this car people are talking about seriously high tech ceramic films, etc. that are very very expensive.

Frankly it feels like they are paying 3 to 4 times what my buddy charges me and they are getting a result that is maybe 5% better. In other words I smell a whole lot of marketing BS.

To get to the point: If a top notch installer with over 10 years of experience is putting Johnson’s Window Film on my precious ride, I should be fine right? I don’t need the absolute best. I just want it to look great, last many years and block out some of the intense Arizona sun.

Go with the installer you've used and trust. That'll outweigh any negativity towards whatever film you use.
