Looks like some of them have curved glass.

Boats, in my opinion, are on another level compared to auto and residential. They are dirty, the glass is at weird angles, usually there are sliding windows that are a real pain in the butt. Cramped conditions, lots of walking etc.

They aren't fun.

That boat looks like it just has a windshield, so that's good. Maybe wont be such a pain.

It's important to prepare well, like taping felt to prevent the little particles from bleeding out, making sure to thoroughly clean the glass and sides, anywhere the film may touch.

Also make sure the bottom flap is out of the way so that you can place the film with minimal manipulation. The more you have to move the film around to get it into position, the more chance you have of creasing it and or getting contamination.

Also, make sure you touch the film adhesive side as little as possible. Having the glass ready so that you can handle the film well, without touching anything but the glass and not letting the film flop around or having to force it in somewhere.

Another thing is that if there is any shrinking that needs to be done, do it before installing, as every time a finger pops up it brings a bit of dirt under with it.

Work in a clean shop, mist the air around your work area right before pulling the liner also mitigates some of the airborne dust etc.

Man, that is the truth. Also how much the world has changed since.

The film should be on the inside, so your windshield is probably just dirty. If the film didn't crunch when you rolled the side window down, it's probably OK too. Might want to just wipe it lightly to see if it's just dirty on the surface.

They probably meant the slight variance in the VLT and your measurement. VLT meters can err on either side by a few % as can film from batch to batch.

27 x .5 = 13.5

13.5 x .5 = 6.75

When are you going to work on something nice?   

Just looked and it's switchable tint for cars. I don't think it's exactly a side line of normal window film. Maybe I misunderstand the question.
