  1. Sorry the quality is so low, it's 15 years old, but here's the Ryk shrink...
  2. There are a bunch of different ways to do it. Wet, dry, baby powder, dryer sheet residue, laundry starch, 2 gun Ryk shrink, Mdog soap method and on and on. The film behaves differently with each one. I don't think I've ever seem 2 people do it the exact same way.
  3. Move all the excess from the sides to the top and bottom. You want the sides flat before shrinking as the film wont shrink on the horizontal, only the vertical.
  4. It goes on the inside. The video is ironic because we work the film on the outside, then install it inside. Everyone sees us shaping the film on the outside and says, "I thought it went on the inside.".
  5. I'd let it dry, see what remains and if it doesn't bug you...
  6. I can tell right now some of that isn't going away. What I've circled are water spot stains on the outside (nobody's fault) and some contamination under the film(the ones with a black spot in the middle) and maybe some smeared adhesive on the long ones.
  7. Roughly 20% x 5% or .2 x .05 = .01 or 1%
  8. Hey great to hear from you! We still send people your way.
  9. Those are giant water and air pockets. Take it back and have them redo.
  10. Make sure you have a freshly snapped stainless steel blade, or a new razor blade. I'd cut it right at the point the film is raised off the glass as it meets the sticker. As long as your cuts are clean and all the way through, tearing the film shouldn't be an issue. I'd be worried how badly the sticker is stuck and if you can get that off without using a blade.
  11. If you are getting debris visible from the outside while installing something is wrong. Perhaps better lighting in the shop because you can usually tell right away unless it's very small. Plus since there is some degree of contamination in every job, it should be inspected and any dust pressed down to make it invisible before it leaves the shop.
  12. There really isn't anything we do normally that would cause scratches like that. Once glass has tint on it, stuff like scratches we didn't notice before stand out.
  13. Tuna boat. Surprised any are still on the road.
