The hardest thing to tint on these is the windshield. Other than that,,, eezy-peezy.

How many times has your customer rolled down a freshly tinted window to ask what to clean it with?

Ceramic doors and visor on this sweet rig today. Wouldn't fit inside but had great weather with no wind this morning.

TintDude reacted to privacytint in Have any of you had success with setting up new dealer accounts through cold email outreach?
I'd agree, I don't think unsolicited emails is going to produce any kind of win. I'm curious if anyone has had success with it though?
My plan is; Cold email > In-person introduction > set up meeting > close on services agreement.

I agree with TD.
I'll answer with a question; as long as you've been in business before moving to a new city, how many times did you receive a cold call via email?
This was always my plan: go to dealer > request a brief meeting with decision maker (sales/service mgr) > intro > present reason for being there > close on services, if there is interest.
Win some, lose some and in most cases, there isn't any easy way other than plain old shoe leather, a smile and a handshake.

It's tough to do anything unsolicited in email. I'd prepare some kind of concise presentation and go personally to the service managers with your offer.

You no longer need to remove the rear spoiler or wiper hardware on the new body style hatchbacks. Much easier.

@intdud What makes you think he's a DIYer? He asked if the sweeps need to come off, not some BS about "choosing the right film" or "manufacturer's guidelines for your specific vehicle".

Thank you! 😅 You took the words out of my mouth. You're exactly correct, not a DIYer, I've been at it for 30 years. The lucid got done months ago, it took extra patience but came out fantastic. Customer had me wrap it with PPF all-around.

They seem to be engineered for quick assembly at the cost of being serviceable. Plus the whole planned obsolescence thing.

Can’t have bad tint on our own vehicle. R&R completed 👍

TintDude reacted to doctor4766 in TINTING A MERCEDES 2007 CLK-200 CONVERTIBLE
There has definitely been a range of vehicles that I've come across over the years that have this problem.
ie Suzuki Liana, Mitsubishi Lancer, Toyota Yaris and some Mercedes models are some that come to mind.
When I first became aware of this kind of problem in the '90s, I called the local Mercedes dealership to see if they had come across it, and they told me that Mercedes themselves were advising not to tint the car at all.
I would just tell the owner that this can be an issue and let them decide whether they want to still have the job done but with a limited warranty that doesn't included scratching.
Not worth the headache IMO

Weather strip comes off the top of the back doors easily. I pulled all the panels and rear deck. Didn’t do the shield cuz hell no.

Yup! I’ve had three do that to me through the years. Now I just cut around them. Also helps that I save a liner from one that I did and I use it to cut out the windshield strip to make installation go quicker with no worries about the mirror and bracket. Sorry it happened to you.

Thank you all, this has made me feel a little better knowing it wasn’t totally my fault lol I will not be removing any more Ford rear view mirrors. Not worth the risk

Add me to the list. Brand new F150 and did the exact same thing. Never, ever attempted to do it again lol.
