  1. It does look good. I always forget how small it is in person...seems larger on photos.
  2. That sucks, hopefully you work through it. I've definently had my moments like that. My year could be a million times better but I'm always scared to try new stuff or add new services. I always feel it is not the right time or we not staffed right, etc.
  3. Loving the color combo of this blue and the Carbon Fiber accents on the Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce! The after photos are still on the camera but got 3M Crystalline on every piece of glass.
  4. How is everyone's business going as we get closer to the end of 2019? We have been super slammed this year thanks to the long and hot summer here in Georgia. This week and last week are the first ones we haven't been booked out, so I guess it is time to slow down some and relax. Our Llumar numbers are through the roof but our Crystalline jobs this year have severely declined. I think this is mainly due to the Tesla Model 3 launching and us not tinting it. Last year we were slinging Crystalline like crazy on the Telsa Model S, but seems to be more 3's selling this year than S's. 3M Ceramic-IR should be launching dealer-wide right before SEMA, so hopefully, that will bring our 3M numbers back up by having a Ceramic option. Hopefully it has a normal appearance cause I wasn't feeling Obsidian. Plus loving the new front-end on the Silverado Z71!
  5. Llumar is going to have a charcoal color, some with a hint of blue others with a hint of green...either color hue is not very visible.
  6. I am pretty sure it will damage it or most likely pull it off with the first layer of vinyl. You will also have an outline of that decal on the top layer.
  7. I compared it to F1 Stratos since I have a sample along with 3M Crystalline since I carry it...both of those are noticeably higher of coarse. I would like to compare it against Madico Wincos and Dub IR.
  8. Just had GMC Sierra come in wanting ATC that we already discussed films on the phone...we even had it in his notes he wanted ATC. We took about 10 minutes to walk him through the differences, he ended up with IRX.
  9. So was contacted by CoolVu today saying this video was "unauthorized". That is all I needed to hear to make my decision on carrying the film or not...it is a hard no. If they tripping about a video that shows virtually nothing, imagine if the film starts having failures and you try to speak out about it. Not to mention the below manufacturer sells the film on Amazon. 🤣🤣
  10. We use distilled water we buy from a dollar store around the corner...we had a couple of issues in the past with tap water and zero since the switch.
  11. Most will stay on the outside with some on the inside. This is not really an issue though, to date I have never heard of someone having an issue with their door electronics after tinting. However, if you want to be 100% safe, don't tint the windows.
  12. Most likely, we told the people to give it a week to dry out and assured them we would have it detailed if it didn't. Neither person ever called back.
  13. This is just the water solution from the installation...when they started driving the vehicle, excess water spilled onto the slide. We had a couple of vehicles do this and both completely dried in a few days leaving nothing behind. In our cases, there was no need to get it detailed.
  14. We advertise (paid) on Google and Yelp mostly with some FB/IG sprinkled in the middle. Like @CaliTINT said, Yelp seems to work very well for us...we probably respond to 20 emails a day on Yelp alone. We tried Yelp in the past and it was horrible. No results, expensive, and everything had to be done through talking to someone at Yelp. Since then, they changed how advertising works there and is much simpler and IMO cheaper. They seem to be much easier to work with now too plus you have greater control at the touch of your tips than before. Craigslist used to be great, but now they charge $3-$5 per ad and only run it for 30 days when it was 45 days when free. We get a lot of interaction when running ads on FB/IG, but I don't see tons of that resulting in a transaction. Now Marketplace on FB has been great for Window Tint. It is completely free and gets you in front of a lot of people.
  15. Both good films, Huper has a much longer track record. Huper will have a slight silver look while the XR Plus will have the normal charcoal/black look. It really depends on your preference as far as the looks. I do not like the silver, but one of our guy's car is tinted in the Huper Ceramic and we have had a bunch of people request that look. As far as the "real" comment, both are real Ceramic films. The difference is Huper Ceramic contains no dye (hence the silver look) and is patented. It is like comparing a Nissan Leaf to a Tesla S and saying the Telsa is a "real" electric car. Both are electric cars, Tesla just might be more innovative.
  16. We changed how we use the heat lamp when we rolled out IRX...our original way doesn't work well. Originally, we would spin the wheel letting the customer feel ATC, CTX, and AIR. We would only spin the wheel once since the jump was drastic enough, the customer got the idea the first time. When we changed the lineup up to ATC, CTX, and IRX we noticed the jump between CTX/IRX was minor. How did we change our approach? We now let the customer feel ATC, then CTX, then IRX, then we go back down to CTX, and lastly back up to IRX. We noticed when you feel CTX after IRX, you will feel some heat coming through. When you go back to IRX, the heat you were just feeling with CTX is virtually gone. I would say we do 1-2 vehicles a day on average in IRX with the majority of others going with CTX or Crystalline.
  17. I'm always shocked at the amount some shops get for Suntek. Before CIR rolled out, one shop in GA was charging $400 for CXP at their own shop and $500+ at a car audio shop they handle. They were also telling all customers CXP was a Ceramic film. I don't even want to know their price for CIR.
  18. Yeah, I see some of the top dealers have it to play with to get feedback. I'm far from that since my 3M sales have dropped this year while my Llumar sales are through the roof.
  19. Nothing either...they need to hurry up with it.
  20. Good good, just decided to spend less time online. You?
  21. Wassup hoes!! Llumar IRX feels and installs the same as CTX, just more IR rejection...up to 88% versus CTX being 69%. IRX performs on the same level as FormulaOne Pinnacle...each spec is basically 1% higher or lower. Eastman has setup IR films for all their major brands with the performance increasing as the brands get more prestigious. Suntek has CIR, Llumar has IRX, Huper/Autobahn has i3, and FormulaOne has Stratos. We have been moving IRX like crazy, even though we didn't have anything to show the customers. We just added the shades to the wallboard and updated the heat lamp to include IRX today.
  22. Anyone heard of these guys out of Canada? Got an email that they have a rep stopping in our area in Janurary and wanted to see if anyone carries it? There are some dealers in the Northeast, Midwest, and California. I was signed up for Clearplex, but never fully started offering it. Then Madico bought them, called for pricing, but never heard anything from them. So wanted to see if the ExoShield is comparable.
  23. I know about the issue with the other Alfa Romeo, but haven't heard anything about this SUV. Has anyone done one?
