  1. I see a prep or install issue, not solution? If your mix isn’t beading off the glass you’re fine. Clean everything including the seals in the top and side with the window down first then again until paper towels don’t come up black with old rubber. All in the prep and squeegee cleaning methods.
  2. If the car was spotless I’d still prefer avoiding that. Smearing dirt around, no matter how clean it looks.... shouldn’t be done. Car gets tinted once maybe twice in its lifespan. Gets washed a lot more! Hose it off before (as the customer) clean it out. And hose it off after. Too much liability on our behalf as installers for some bs scratch that may or may not have been there.
  3. Nobody understands a tinter except another tinter. (Think it was @TintDude) we wish we were perfect but have to accept that’ll never happen ( @no ma'am)there’s my quote! Being ocd and a tinter takes years off your life fast!

Panel rolls off seal, front quarters are cake. Front door rear edge is tight and deep. Doable but need some more slip. The 3rd brake light is a pain literally to remove. Think Audi but add 3 10mm bolts that are in there real deep, pop push clips out headliner at back to start. There’s a keeper on each of the bolts that makes getting it started easier. Sunroofs are kinda stupid still. And there was no getting a rope in the dash for the shield. Super tight on driver side. Another easy car ruined by engineers
  5. You can do it with 20in so less waste. Cut pattern tight if not a little short, when in doubt leave a few little fingers on the side you know you can lay down with heat after install. Doors are really the hard part imo. And if you’re a big ol boy you can lay the seats back and straddle the console for install.
  6. I don’t trust tesla engineers further than I can throw em. And I’m not in shape to throw anyone lol! First run of tesla 3’s, maybe all of em were out to get us on the windshield and nobody wants to buy you a new computer or module. I’m sure it’s no problem with proper prep but we’re all Leary when it comes to tesla and damage. I feel like Elon had a 3 series coupe and hates our industry
  7. Of the 4 cars that come through the shop today, 2 were clean enough for a nice install. Shop can be spotless and pressure washed daily, but all it takes I a car full of dog hair. Or...... 1 that doesn’t get cleaned.... once in 5 years. We’re here to provide the illusion of perfection. Pic of my arm after cleaning back glass on 15 bmw convertible.
  8. I don’t see the point I stocking 30in for any reason. 20 24 36 40 even 60. But why 30?
  9. You can’t create those streaks installing, they are in line with the window movement. (Too perfect for a human to recreate)and that’s not a new Chevy. Unless he threw sand in the seal to intentionally pull some shit there’s literally no way for you to have caused this. Too old of a truck for that conversation, feel free to quote me.
  10. It’s either from hard water or the seal rubbing the glass. Real common on trucks with windows that get constant use, dirt in the seal or dust leaves a hazy appearance. Not the film or your install, it’s on the outside.
  11. This guy won’t buy anything other than gm i think, and they roll with towels on the seats. Retired Air Force
  12. Man I take zero pictures anymore but hang on... brought to you by condom sense window tinting.
  13. I’ve worked in bays designed for speed and where tint is afterthought, makes a huge difference in productivity
  14. I’m following, what we did looked good to me The window was rediculous ng 20 madico butted straight edges up in the middle vertically.
  15. Use their heat display to show yourself? I’m sure you could get a small sample, and if you don’t move a lot of that film it’ll help your normal ceramic film sales.

    2020 Telluride

I didn’t pull arm rests and if the rear has shades thdoo still rolls off the super easy to pull seal. Front glass is weird as hell, laminated but flimsy? Hard to describe but until I’m told not to tint the front doors, supporting the glass outside with a finger as nail down the top.
