I went to your website. If you multiply all your prices on that website by 1.5 you may want to stay in business. Your prices are way too low. If i was thinking about buying your business i'd see that low price structure and think you had to really lowball to make money.

all of the above plus, I won't do limo on top of factory glass.  I'll go down to limo (20% on top of 20%) but I won't add 5% to 20%    I also try my best to NOT do limo on the front two.

I won't double layer film and I won't go darker than 50% on a windshield.

I usually try to talk people out of it unless they can make a good argument for it like an oil field truck that is used as someone's office all day or a show piece. I have done a few like that for da' fuzz when I was in Fla.

I did another one similar for a lady on lupas meds and had a bad reaction to light.

Looks like there is still film on there.    If there is then the best trick is to actually tint that window With whatever film and then  Bag it! You will be amazed what that will do you.

    Horrible install.

*If* it were weld splatter.... then the side windows should be perfect. Given they aren't even close... bad install.

Look man, I'm gonna be honest here.  It looks like you have an experienced excuse guy and a not so experienced tint guy.  I read your post all the way through before I looked at pics and that is not what I expected to see.  In my opinion that is an awful lot of "weld splatter", unless that vehicle has been in a bodyshop for major repairs on the rear hatch.

I personally think that entire install could be quite a bit better and that rear glass seems to be just plain inexperience.

There is no way to tell about that rear glass unless you pull the film and check the glass when it is completely clean.

I use fusion all type now. SolarFX sets us quick. Global sets up quick. But I can stress enough. Xpel sets up before you can even get it into place. Especially on a large piece like a windshield or back glass.  Did a charger yesterday with one of the samples. No steel wool on defrosters. No rapid tac. No alcohol barely scrubbed it. Squeegeed it off. Shrunk as usual. Laid film on. No peanuts-Nothing. And it formed around those huge defrosters like a 1 ply film and STUCK

Shop needs to make it right.
    brand new truck. That sucks.
They need to replace windshield and have one of their other installers reinstall and you can be sure they will pay attention next time.
    Cheers

Tint Slayer got a reaction from Dano in Top window edge gap or shaved ?
Whatever they want, but lately leaving a gap is the quickest for me unless they ask. Like @Dano said the top corners are tricky, i don't cut on the glass i use magic marker for the vertical cut spots. when you're gonna leave like a 1/16 extra to shave or cut i make the cut just a little lower on those 2 corners on the outside of the lines, this way i line up the the 2 corners of the film just below the edge so i'm not digging into the corners trying to shave or file the very edge of the film in the rubber area.
Basically at the corners away from the line where it'll be under the rubber i make a cut from the line outward and slowly down ward so i don't have to dig in there to shave and i get some adjustment using those corners.

The other customers have to be factored in, you can either make the one C6 mad or all 3 or 4 customers mad. Some days i can't do stuff i do easily other days. 4 rear glass go bad in a row i'm done for the day, i don't think many of us would try 5.

I just clean normal and they get what they get. When a car is that it shows they dont care. Every single car I tint for a really picky person shows up detailed.

I would reschedule it for an off day when I could figure it out without any pressure, or pay another installer to lay it so I could see what I'm missing.

Either way I would go upside down. If I get it right I'll know what it's worth and be known as the guy that can do it.

Hard to tell how bad it is from a zoomed in picture.  Doesn't look that bad although it is a defect.

It is rather difficult(not impossible) to get that huge piece of film installed across the rear glass and it be spotless.  Dust, debris, carpet fibers etc, all these things are in play when trying to get a statically charged piece of film in there correctly.  That being said, it really depends on the size and location of that defect, and how much it bothers you.  It is probably not going to get any worse over time and on the next install there could be a different issue than this one.  The 100% perfect tint job is rare. There is going to be a speck or two here or there especially if you are looking really close.

1 = step back a couple of feet from the vehicle.  Is it still very noticeable?
2 = is it in your vision from inside the car?  Does it bother you while driving?
If yes to these, then it might be worth redoing.
If no, then you are probably going to okay with an acceptable install for a long time.

All in all, it really depends on how bad the spot is and how bad it bothers you.
If the shop will work with you on redoing it if it bothers you that bad, all the better for you.

    Good luck.

No way around it…they suck. So relieved to not do them anymore. I’ll just let my comp do these, and I’ll just schedule more full vehicles. Plus, 90% of people want them on Trucks and Teslas…no thanks!
