@minty with a very fine pin you can do wonders. Heat it up and tuck and make it hold then let go. Just tedious. Here is mid install

@minty i am pure ppf as well. I am tucking it ALL with a very thin card. Cutting alone takes half a day for 1 panel because i have to trim so close, i am pretty good with the knife (very steady hand) but what i noticed is this film has 2 layers (a layer of film and a layer of paint  underneath, because i am not putting enough pressure to go through the second layer a very fine layer of black paint layer was leaving behind and if i put more pressure i dont want to cut paint, so not risking it). Just going extremely slow with this install. I added a picture of the roof edge for you to see.

The door was really tough beside fenders, because its really tight.

@XPELJeff  i never back down from a challenge lol that quarter panel took 3 days and 2 attempts but i know the exact route for the other side so i will mimick my steps and manipulate the film. Thank you, thats amazing to hear. Alot of stress hahahahah this is actually a secretive project. I am only showing you guys, there will be a big showing at an autoshow (cant say more) Jeff we are going to put vinyl decals on top for their company logos and even put #XPEL, there is a magazine its going into. Cant mention more about what mag.

Like i mentioned, there is a professional video being done. I am wearing go Pros on my head and body hahahahha there are more go pros on ladders way up above and high end cameras recording from side. To showcase all the issues we run into and how we overcame them. Dead batteries on GoPros are prolonging this too hahahah

I am more then positive the company owner would want some XPEL website exposure possibly if you wanted to contact me in PM jeff with email and i can pass it on to the owner of the vehicle and what he wants to do.

This will be showcased in Monte Carlo France as well ;)

I did polish it out after and I wore gloves.  It took me two hours just with adhesive  remover on just one side.  Oh well, getting paid for it I guess.

Important thing is no paint came off and the original paint is still in great shape after 20 years which is great for resale value on this nearing $200K 993 Turbo.  Can't believe how much they are becoming worth.

Following with interest, How are you going to get around the glass and roof guttering rubbers. Any vinyl installers are probably rolling their eyes at the moment but I come from a purely ppf background.

I'm pretty impressed with what you've been able to do with it so far @BigRuski!  You may literally be the first guy in the world to do a vinyl wrap full car color change with that product.

    Hey guys,

Just wanted to shoutout a huge thanks to the guys at PremiumShield for getting the AMG GT-R full-car patterns produced so quick, and GREAT patterns too!!!
To anyone that was involved in making the patterns, you did an awesome job! Full car, everything fit just amazing. My client decided to go with a full car Matte PPF, so i was a little concerned about the small natural gap from the edge of panels that is usually acceptable when applying gloss ppf. These patterns fit right to the edges and/or wrapped around for a better finished look, especially for matte PPF.

My client was SUPER happy with the results!! I’m sure I’ll see more of his cars in the future.

For anyone that hasn't used PremiumShield Elite SH yet, do yourself a favor and just try it out, you won't be disappointed. I've used SunTek PPF for many years, and though it is still a great product, PremiumShield Elite SH is next level! it is the flattest (no orange peel), glossiest, clearest film I've used, and super installer friendly too.

Once again, Thanks guys for the great patterns!!

Cutting is an install of its own. Covering all edges.

Here is another teaser. Should have 1 side of the car done today. Tomorrow is shot, have a Lamborghini Huracan Performante being dropped off for full wrap in matte XPEL Stealth

@pro-tect mobile the finish of vinyl doesnt look anywhere near as good as ppf though. I can tell its a wrap if the car is driving 5 lanes away from me. This film looks really really good. It better for 9.40/sqft

Alot of cars now a days come in matte finish and this looks factory painted. I am going to be tucking everything i possibly can.

Like another client i have booked up of a Lamborghini Huracan Performante in matte

What a b**ch lol hood is actually 55.5" x 57" film is only 54" and i had to roll it over. Very stiff but went on.

I tested a few small sample piece prior to install:

Dry application - came out like crap (crease lines and bubbles.)

Wet application with only slip solution and plastic card with teflon - edges didnt get enough pressure created small bubbles.

Wet application with soap + water on main area then alcohol with water on edge. Using a black squeegie. - Came out flawless.

Same application method as regular ppf, only issue is the biggest roll is 54". Imagine a Porsche Macan hood (would have to be 2 piece with a middle separation line, ugly asf)
Tomorrow wheels / vents / headlights / washers / fogs all come off the car.

    Hey Jeff,

The client is having Porsche body shop come in and strip the entire car, most of the trim is being replaced with real carbon fiber pieces and yes i am wrapping this entire vehicle in the black matte ppf. It will be extremely hard i can already imagine. The only issue i could see happen is the roof, where each corner ppf doesn't like to mold into corners (might have to vinyl wrap it.) Also the hood is 54.3" and the roll is 54" (so a bit of stretching will be required) under hood it's all carbon fiber. I do not have a time frame to finish this project (as it's winter time and season is slow i can take my time doing it too)

Here are some pictures as i start, i will post progress pics. I have Instagram videos and pictures if someone really wanted to see the progress while i am doing this. https://www.instagram.com/evo_nanotec/

Every step will be professionally recorded as well.

P.s. @XPEL Jeff i think my client bought every roll they had in black matte lol

Ok so film came in, it is quiet expensive, double of XPEL Ultimate. Quality of the film is really good, no orange peel like on most vinyl wraps. Tested the self healing as well.

I am waiting for confirmation and i will start wrapping a new Porsche GT3 RS on Thursday. Film only comes in 54" (biggest roll) so i will see how it's going to work. Guaranteed the A-frame + Quarterpanel + Rockers 1 pc won't work, will probably have to make a seem at the bottom (rockers separate). I will look at it on Thursday and setup my plan for it.
