If you are going to do a windshield with a front strip, first - tint the whole windshield, then do the front strip as you normally would, after the whole windshield is tinted.  
 
35% is not recommended for windshields as it is too dark at night and during the rain.   This is not fact, just the overwhelming opinion of most respectable tinters.  50% is the limit for most tinters that care about the industry.    

Invest in a scrubber(a long handle with Velcro to attach a white scrubby pad). Use to that scrub the entire BG very well. Use a paper towel or rag to wipe both sides of the c-pillar, to make sure any dirt is off. Properly squeegee the bg once it’s scrubbed, DO NOT HIT THE TOP OF THE HEADLINER. Get a side swiper (or something like it) to get the bottom edge squeegeed off on your final pass. Final spray on the BG should flush the entire bottom, and the sides from top to bottom. Avoid spraying about 1”-2” from the top of the bg. Then you lay the film in. Hope that helps. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I use the Scotch-brite shower and tub scrubber like that, i put a white scrubby right over the blue scrubby that's on it so i can re-use the handle. Good leverage and don't have that awkward reach. 

 
 

Another option is try be drier when you clean, like clean and dry all the edges without going too deep and kicking up junk and/or getting it wet too deep in, you don't need to soak it when you clean, just when you install. If you cleaned and you're too wet in the area way beyond the dot matrix it can sometimes mix the crap in or absorb in with your slip when you move the film into place like try not move the ends of the film too much when adjusting and make sure the sides are dry after cleaning, sometimes there's dirty foam in there too that gets soaked and seeps out when you get it all wet again with slip. Try when you clean the back window to not drench it when cleaning and be as dry as you can, this way the slip doesn't mix in with the junk beyond where you clean and install.

When I do a backglass,  I make sure the bottom section is cleaned really well, then on the last cleaning pass before install, I make sure not to try go to low and bring stuff up off the hatrack with a squeegee.  Just like Tint Eastwood said, that last pass across the hatrack just before install is usually where the trash comes from.  
 
So on the last squeegee the bottom 4" or so of the backglass is not squeegeed and the line that is left gets flushed well just before unrolling.  If you pre-clean then control the environment well just before unrolling, this should keep the trash down.  Also, do your best to not slide the film around during unroll.  Going past the boarder brings trash back into the install area while unrolling.  

May have to flush those bottom areas, especially the tight ones. Your final pass with the cleaning squeegee could be kicking up lint/dust from the deck.  
 
Careful of those damned newfangled hifi electronics. I hear they don’t like water.  
 
 

More than likely it's some contamination that is occurring due to dirt or even some carpet fibers, depending on the vehicle. Always be careful when squeeging the bottom portion of the back window, cause if you drag your tool incorrectly and have your tool dragging along the carpet, you could be causing little particles to resurface in the air and back onto the glass. Never hurts to clean twice!

First you cant control speed...it is what it is and will get quicker as your routine becomes more efficient. Just go for clean installs and dont mind wasting film, since its just more practice for you. 
 
For mobile, I only install in a garage and when the wind kicks up, i shut it while I stick it. You got to keep organized and have all your tools with you and back up tools in your vehicle. Oh yeah, always back vehicle in reverse for install. 

Efficiency will come with experience, keep at and don't sacrifice quality for the sake of speed.

Try to wear an apron or have a rolling cart near you on the same side of the car.. Don't let tools you need be on opposite side. Install on one side at a time. Walking around adds up. 

I would hope some $hi#%y old stickers being removed from a guys 97’ Honda wouldn’t upset him too much . 
 
Let alone be more important than a nice tint job. 

Remove them, I’ve tried shrinking over certain back glass decals and it’s only ever screwed me. If there is any decal in the way, I simply let the customer know and I remove them. 

I’ve noticed if you go to remove it and the tint is the perfect temperature that will happen sometimes , gotta be lucky though 

Just call it the luck of the draw.

I think pretty much everything on the planet is Carbon, so every one is right. That popped in my head sipping my CARBONated soda, so if someone wants carbon film dump some soda on it and say you've been CARBON-ated bee-otch. Problem solved all around for everyone.

I put 20% Classic Series Black, which is their cheapest 5 year warranty film, on my truck front windows to test it out i think 3 years ago and it hasn't faded or changed color at all. I looked at the edge of the glass at the top where it gets hidden by the gasket when the window is closed and there's no color change or fade, i love it's black color and great clarity. Another tint dude told me he had it on his car for 4 years and no fade or color issues. We're all told to stay away from 1 ply or cheaper films, but this stuff is better than some of the 2 ply out there, it lays down great on dot matrix and defrosters because it's thinner, and the clarity is amazing. I really have no complaints about the product at all, i rarely use it because i suck at shrinking/installing 1 ply and sell mostly SolarFX's CarbonFX. I should note that your results may vary if your down South, i'm in the chilly Northeast.

Hey Long, just thought I’d chime in here and give you a comment. All of our window films use 4th Gen dyes, including our Classic series. We have been using this film for over 5 years in the hottest climates in the USA with ZERO complaints of turning purple.
