  1. Wholly crap. they want you to really fill out all this stuff. Who puts the whole Vin# down - how about the last eight. Why to we need plate number if we have the vin or the last eight numbers of the vin this should suffice to say the car was tinted with a rayno film. This really sounds like an invasion of a customers privacy. And to top that off they want you to send a picture of the invoice as well. So I will have to print an invoice and then scan it , Then find on the computer to attach. 15 minutes later the process is done. No fffffing way am I going to do all this. Also the customer doesnt have a warranty to take with them. Someone at rayno need to rethink this By By rayno
  2. I've been using tinter patterns for a few years. Its my experience that I spend more money on having to had hand cut bad patterns than what the program is worth. I toss a lot of film on the ground and then trash. The trick is dont cut the whole car first. Cut one side before you cut the other. This is what we have been doing for the past 2 years. Hit and miss??? There are few cars that are have really good patterns. My advice is to hand cut all doors. Use the software for new ford f150 trucks and chevy trucks and hatch backs and stationary quarter windows,They still haven't fixed the Large bronco patterns. Just did the fronts on a 2008 ford f150, how can patterns be bad after 15yrs of updates????????? Just make a list as you go along and mark which patterns are off. Its sad that I have to do this.
  3. Does anyone have a list of each manufacture, of what they pay in labor to replace bad window tint under warranty.
  4. Who's makes the best patterns for window tint. Im having a nightmare with one company and their pattens suck and I'm wasting good film and money. I won't say what company, I bet someone will guess quickly.
  5. It all depends on how much you paid. We used to call that the "arizona gap"
  6. its from the tempering process and the way the glass cools on the rollers after coming out of the oven. You mainly see this with polerized sunglasses and sometimes in the shade with no sunglasses. But I'm only a tinter. Some cars are worse than others.
  7. Never heard back from customer, must of worked itself out. He just bought this used and must of fixed it self after a complete reboot of software and down load. Just be careful in the future and have them sign something. Otherwise you could be buying someones pre existing problem.
  8. Their hard coat is really good, its probably the tool used to remove water may have had a bur or inperfection in the tool it self. But without seeing in person its hard to tell.
  9. Probably the glass itself. Seen this on a lot of windshields.
  10. Customer states that the gps is no longer working after tinting his car. He also said his car will not connect to his home wifi. We did not tint the windshield. So wondering whats up or maybe the problem was already there and just happened the day after we tinted his car. Does anyone have info. I have never had this happen, the car is also out of warranty for this. Also the wifi antenna is located in the mirrors. So I don't understand how that happened as well. I guess I just wait and see the outcome. I talked to another shop that has done hundreds of these car and he's never had it happen to him. I guess the only way to make sure your not buying some ones pre existing or intermintet problem is, i guess verify everything works before the car is tinted. I let you guys know the outcome.
  11. Xpel may not sell you film even though you paid for the training. This happened to a friend. Llumar maybe the same way, not absolutely sure, this is what I was told . Make sure they put it in writing that they will sell you their film after training. Also some companys charge 2000k plus for a 3-4 day school. In my opinion these types of classes should never be sold because their is no way to be a productive and ready to go window tinter in a few days. Even though they give you a cert. Work for a tint shop for at least 6 months to a year and then go out on your own. I wish some one would offer at least a 30 day school. This is more in touch with reality. Good luck and start off slow and easy. Their is also a lot of good youtube channels to learn from.
  12. Does anyone know if this car has the uv coating that can scratch on the front doors.
  13. I have a customer with a rear section in a bronze colored metal film. Does anyone know of a film that has those characteristics. The car looks like it came from Texas or Arizona. Thanks
  14. I never signed up because, I have never seen them or heard about them lobby for better tint laws. In my opinion, I think the guy that started it created himself a job. If someone knows what laws they have lobbied for and changed, please let the forum know. Otherwise save your money because the public doesn't know who they are.
  15. Is there a secret to these front doors or can you 2 step this one with out pulling door panels.
  16. Just ask for a refund and keep the film. Tell them your being cool. Or they can buy you a new windshield and refund the money back and you have it tinted somewhere else. If the marks bug you enough then ask for new glass.
  17. Has anyone done one yet, Im wondering about the rear window shrinking.
  18. Your correct about them never fitting on the top. So every roll up I actually shave with an xacto knife for over 30yrs, so this really doesn't bother me that it doesn't fit the curvature on the top. Its when the pattern is an 1/2 inch short on the bottom of an 1/2 inch short on the side. They should design the patterns to at least go under the seal a min of a 1/4 inch.
  19. Next time ask the guy if he folds his socks and underwear. This is my common question to see if someone is a***. Roach is 100% correct here.
  20. I wonder if we can start a new page just for a list of bad pattens on tintek 2020. This would be very helpful, the manufacture of the program does not seem to update or fix bad patterns. The amount of film I waste every month is equivalent or more than the cost of the program. Im going back to hand cutting on all doors. Suv. rear windows seem ok and rear windows of trucks. That about what this program is really good for.
  21. Don't touch this job" just walk away." It will bubble in the sun and your will be buying the guy a new window. due to you cannot get the old film off with no glue.
  22. Are the fisheye looking marks evenly space apart on the whole windshield and are the size of a nickel or dime. If so take off your polarized sunglasses then look. This maybe the problem if so, its the glass and the tint makes them easier to see.
