Thanks so much for the response Ryker, over the past few days I have been looking into this information. One question i have is how do you determine the type of glass and thickness of glass that is installed at a job? I have found some thickness gauges online which you hold against the window and gauge it via the reflection? Or do you google search the decals and stamped numbers on the glass pane instead?

Hi all, I am very eager to begin learning to flat glass. I am based in Melbourne and have been on YouTube and these forums the last month learning as much as I can, I intend on buying a roll of film and practicing by tinting my entire house. I have a few questions. Which manufacturer of film do you recommend for residential jobs? Do you guys tint over the safety symbols they have on glass to prevent people walking into the glass, or do you just scrape them off during preparation? I can find plenty of videos about preventing contamination under the film, but surely there will be an event where there is contamination between the glass and film, what would you do in this situation? Thank you guys.
