  1. also i had a question sir, satin isnt a talked about vinyl as i have seen, am i able to bridge a gap with satin, i know you cant with chrome.
  2. So i all i have left is driver side quarter panel, rearbumper, two doors, driver and passenger side skirts, passenger fender, and the front bumper which i plan on taking that to someone who will do that for me, its a gxp bumper so i dont want to mess it up lol
  3. well since i do know satin is a delicate vinyl i actually switched to using my thumb instead of a squeegee since it sometimes leaves marks on the vinyl, i watch CKwraps all the time and actually is where i get all of my information, i did glass it out as best as possible, the G8 has a pretty big wide body fender from factory which is a pain, i did the driver side in 3 hours smh which was my fastest panel so far but failed the passenger panel because of the finer wrinkles and how the vinyl wasnt sticking. what is the best method to laying the film down and where should i normally start and how do i divide the panel up into like corners or? I have made beginner mistakes which i have learned from and have failed two panels one was with my friend, first time wrapping with him and i am not shaming him at all but he did cut it short so failed that and i failed the fender.
  4. I have been wrapping my pontiac g8 for the past month everyday i have off i usually wrap another panel, i have learned and researched a lot and see how it has become easier yet it still takes me 3-5 hours to wrap just one panel, usually i am doing great but hit a roadblock which is a spot where there is major curvature on the panel and i have to slowly lay it down and squeegee it out, but there are hundreds of small wrinkles but on other parts of the vinyl it lays down fast and easy with no wrinkles or creases, am i doing something wrong, i understand i may be laying it down not the best way but i have researched so much and understand how to lay it down but when it comes to my car its incomparable and extremely difficult, is there any advice on how to reduce this or even prevent this from happening. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Z6fURjJ4jud3WuYPkHVU3ifnleTVErfc/view?usp=share_link
  5. also had a question, getting rid of the visual mistake i made is one thing but how do i prevent these things that you mentioned such as the scar and over heating, any tips to make it more smooth of an install.
  6. You mentioned liquid carnauba, im assuming its the wax version, is there a certain company you would run with and will it mess up the satin vinyl, since satin/matte are different than gloss or chrome vinyl where you need a certain soap to wash it etc, i just want to make sure it doesnt make my vinyl look worse.
  7. First time ever wrapping and i am very happy with it but am a little disappointed with the visual scarring and shining spot, i will try those products you listed. thank you man and i am assuming the "liner" that you mentioned is the paper/plastic behind the wrap that is sticking to the adhesive?
  8. Yes sir i added a link which shows a video of me showing different angles of it and rubbing my hand over it do show that it isnt dirt.
  9. Currently wrapping the G8 satin black, wrap is from vinylfrog, i have done two doors and two side mirrors so far which have taken me a long time multiple hours, it has been simple but stressful but i am very confident with the knowledge and tools i have. this is my first time ever wrapping ever so am learning day by day and decided it to do it by myself because of the cost it is to have it done professionally. i have accepted that scuffs and visible marks are going to happen because i am doing it myself and of the natural world destroying my vinyl. I have noticed some pretty big "scuffs" not sure what to call them, i have washed it, rubbed it with my hand, post heat, etc and it isnt coming off, they are almost like scratches but they have no texture or indent or anything its flush with the vinyl, also above me door handle it is shiny also have done most things i know of to get the shininess off, i had a hard time above one of the door handles and im sure that is why it is shiny but the marks? Does anybody with vinyl wrapping experience know anything about this or know a forum or group i can take this to, i have looked for some forums but have been unlucky. IMG_0803.MOV - video of scuffs
