  1. Hi everyone. I am about to do a full front wrap on a Tesla Model Y, and I will be removing the emblem on the hood and replacing it with a new emblem after the PPF is installed. The customer doesn't want the emblem cut out and much rather prefers the clean look of the full hood coverage. That being said, I am using Avery Dennison's Supreme Defense Gloss Paint Protection Film. This film has an incredibly slick/hydrophobic top coat which in turn makes things impossible to adhere to it because it. I can only assume that over time that top coat will start to deteriorate and adhesion to it won't be an issue. However, directly after installation and coming straight out of the package, that top coat is very much present and has low surface tension. And although the hydrophobicity is an incredible feature, the low surface tension can be an issue if a client wants vinyl installed after the clear bra installation, or like in my case, if you need to remove an emblem and must replace it. So, does anyone know of a solution that may help increase the surface tension of this clear bra without damaging it? I've heard that either hand or light machine polishing might work, so I might give that a try. I've also heard of a spray that micro etches things like ceramic coatings, or in this case, the top coat of this clear bra. In this specific case I'm talking about Make More Money LLC's "Grab" spray which I've attached as a picture. I've worked with Xpel for 2 years at my previous employer and recently started my own mobile clear bra business in Denver, CO and am now using Avery. I never had to research anything like this with Xpel because their top coat on their Ultimate+ film isn't as hydrophobic, but I'm open to suggestions. Let me know your thoughts and if you've ran into anything like this, how did you solve this "issue"? Thanks -Ricardo
  2. I was going to hire an installer to do residential tinting of all the windows of my house. Two separate installers I found both recommended the Llumar DRN35. I agreed to the one that quoted me the better price. However, the job's been delayed for 2 months now because the installer wasn't able to obtain the window film from his supplier. He said that it's really hard to get LLumar products and recommended another product, Avery Dennison DR OptiTune 30i instead. He quoted me the same price for both the Avery Dennison and LLumar. Which product is better? And how do the qualities compare? What questions should I ask to make sure I'm doing the best thing? Are both products the same price? So what do you guys recommend, the Avery Dennison or LLumar?
  3. I'm looking around my area for tint shops to tint my '21 Civic hatchback and I have found one who has quoted me the following: Xpel High Performance for $300 Or Xpel full Ceramic(unsure which Xpel film) for $450 The second shop has Avery Dennison film and has quoted me Their standard film for $250 Or Nano Ceramic for $330 I haven't found much on Avery films and am wondering what you guys would personally pay for.
  4. Hey guys not sure if this is the right place to put this topic in but hi 👋🏼, so I’m looking at gettin my 2018 Elantra re tinted. Acquired the car about 3 months ago, from what it looks like it did have tint all around some light shade type because there is glue residue on the front two windows where it ticks into the top rubber seal strip. I’ve gotten some quotes from different people couple of them are mobile tinters and the rest have small shops. I’ll list them below. Closest tinter to me quoted me $250 in Avery Dennison film nano ceramic. Couldn’t really find much info on that film on here. Is it good? next shop quoted me $190 in maxpro carbon series I’ve read up on it and looks like the reviews for for are 50/50 good and not so good. a mobile tinter uses global but not sure which line of global film but the fact that he’ll come to me and do it for $200 flat is nice. And lastly this shop uses Johnson window films and he’s at the same $250 price. I’m in SoCal and the summers are brutal and leather interior isn’t fun 😅 guess what I’m asking to not drag this on much longer is which would be the best choice as far as brand wise on the films I’ve listed thanks for any feedback
