Yes it mainly happens in the morning, yes it can be blinding, and yes adding a 80% film will help with more UV Protection along with some heat rejection.  Keep in mind that UV is only part of the problem when damaging your interior...visible light also does it.  Downside Suntek is about the worst film for Low Angle Haze.  I am not sure what tint you chose for the rest of your vehicle, but you say Ceramic on the other thread so that would mean CIR.  If you got CXP on the car, it is not a Ceramic film.

I have autobahn's new black ceramic film. It's a brand new product.

  2. This is my last post for today, sorry for spamming.

I do professional auto detailing so I already know about good products. I own a LOT of products that I probably cant use (need to check ingredients) stuff like MEGS d120,  mothers revision, sprayway.  I have also spent in excess of 24 hours reading various forums and film provider suggestions for cleaners. For consumers the instructions and 'best' options are all over the place.

    1) some say to use small amounts of baby soap and water - and to expect some level of film, residue

    2) some say stoners invisible is completely safe, some question the 'tint-safe' claims.

    3) some say the glass cleaners may be labeled tint safe because it has no ammonia, but it may contain stuff like acetone or other chemicals that break down the backing's bonds.

    3) Some say plexus is awesome -- but this appears to sealants/wax's ... and im curious if it leaves a film thats hard to remove? I do notice that Plexus now lists tinted windows on their website.

So, not to beat a dead horse but - if you had to suggest one product to a customer who really wanted to do a good job taking care of their tint ... what would you suggest?

  3. I am considering placing tint on my front windshield. Specifically my dealer uses Suntek cxp 80. I went ahead and had tint applied to all windows except the front, and I took a sample of the CXP tint to look at. My main concern is what I read about 'low angle haze'.

    1) Is it true that this will mainly occur in the morning time, when the sun is low?

    2) Is the haze going to be blinding, like i cant see the road? Or just like a dirty window?

    3) Is the benefit of the 80% film (stats on Sunteks web site) worth the cost? I mainly want to prevent UV damage to the dash (to which I apply 303 protectant already). The heat rejection on 80% film looks pretty negligible but maybe im wrong there.

  4. Hello,

I'm a consumer. I just had some ceramic tint put onto my honda civic a few days ago (I plan to wait two weeks before I make any changes). I am curious if I should look into having moleskin applied to my windows. It looks like its car specific (im guessing because some cars come stock with the felt on the inside and some dont).

If I should get it, what brand do you recommend? I am somewhat crafty - is this something I can do myself?

Any thoughts and comments are welcome.
