You guys have only a faint idea about the benefits of using products with a low U-value. You want a low u-value on anything you're insulating so that you slow down the 'equalization' of energy between the two areas. I.e. If you want to keep something cool and it's hot outside, you want a low U-value. If you want to keep something hot and it's cool outside, you want a low U-value. Whether insulating a thermos, your car or your house, the lower the u-value the better... U-value 99% of the time works in both directions, it is NOT limited to keeping the heat in but could be used to keep it out. You are correct you cannot 'reflect cold' but you can reflect or retard heat transmission. 

Now you say, well it's summer time, 105F outside, why would I care about a low u-value film when the 20% heat rejecting film works just fine? Because while that tint will retard direct radiation from the sun, it will have no effect on low frequency radiation, such as high air temperatures. So it will block the sun shining through but if it's 9PM and the sun ain't shining, a tint with a high u-value will underperform the film with a low u-value. I am aware that the film touts its benefits by suggesting it reflects the heat back into the room, but the properties for the low U-value rated films are both for Winter & Summer so it's pretty clear the u-value works both ways. 

Thousands is better than $10K+. That's simple math. The question is, how difficult is it really to use these more expensive films. From my perspective, there is a "premium markup" because they can. You guys are saying that there is a very good reason why they're more difficult to install. Also someone on this forum said they're installing Photosync for $500 per car in the south east which is far below normal pricing. I don't really have any plans on going from california to the south east in order to tint a bunch of vehicles. 

Anybody here install photosync film? Of the high end films, which do you guys prefer for installation ease, some of the pros and cons between the different high end heat rejection films?

The express ceramic film with a 70% Total Solar Energy rejection is only 31% which makes it not even worth considering. I need quality tints that block a lot of heat. I have over 10 cars that I would like to "tint". I'm wondering if that this point I should consider applying for a dealer's license or something in order to get the tint I want/need or something. I've called several shops and their pricing is far more than I'm willing to pay especially because the higher end tint has a huge markup. Several shops wanted over $1000 to use Crystalline and or Photosync tint. Can't be spending that kind of money tinting cars. I wonder what's the wholesale price for those tints.

I'm an amateur when it comes to applying Window film. I want to put some clear tint on several vehicles I own. I know of Spectra Photosync, Llumar Stratos, 3M Crystalline, SunTek CIR70, and Huper optik. I'd obviously like to obtain some Photosync but I don't think there is any way for me to procure some of that stuff. So for the amateur who is willing to take the time to do a proper install and use the proper tools, which film should I go with and who can I obtain it from? 

I also need to obtain some 3M™ Thinsulate™ Window Film for my house and that seems to be even hard to procure.
