Not trying to be a know it all, but there's probably 50% of the public could qualify to get a tinted window prescription.  There's never a reason to have to deal with the hassle by the police.  I work for myeyerx.net and we take care of that for our clients.  But it is a medical consultation with real doctors.

I write window tint RXs.  Some cities do want you to have it on your licence, it helps because they see it as soon as they run your plate.  It can prevent you from being pulled over in the first place.  

You really just need to get your paperwork in order.  We do a lot of prescriptions for tinted windows.  Proper prescriptions prevent police persecution.  We do prescriptions or doctor notes for most states.  I'm an optician (I deal with optical hardwear) by trade, I work with a group of  doctors.  I didn't put my company info on here because I don't see anyone advertising.
